Training Apples' & Jen's Training Thread 2021 (Latest report #3590)

Or in the mood of the current board:

Was Roughhead given a shellacking by some unknown teenager? Terrible effort, if so.
Nah man, Roughy played that perfectly, you maintain front position when Cal Brown is kicking to you. Maybe 15m in front...

He got another job at North beating several candidates- so the narrative he was useless is hollow.
Yeah man, he’s doing great things at Norf I hear. They’re really hitting their straps with him there.

He’s not a ruck, so why would we have him as a ruck coach. Come on spinny, even for you that’s baffling
He actually had some decent rucking ability in his playing days. He’s just not a particularly good coach imo.

mate get serious - you may as well write off Noble and all the other coaches.
Noble has some leeway. Unlike Rocca, he hasn’t been an average coach for the last decade.

how did he land a job at NM, given the huge competition for the position from the large number of unemployed Coaches - clearly the industry is far more informed about his capabilities than BF.

Exactly how have you made the assessment that he is an average coach? You been there day in day out observing his work with the players? What traits make him an average coach?

Good teacher have dumb students. Doesn’t make them bad teachers.

‘Your assumption is that Grundy would be better if he had a better coach. Based on what? Nothing but an assumption that someone cannot coach.

Great players don’t always make great coaches, and sometimes average players go on to be better coaches than players.
