I know what you do for that - you cut the cast so it relieves the pressure to stop the swelling - seen it done - didn't work out well.Them some swollen toes

My wifes a sports podiatrist , she treats , diagnose's and rehabs this type if injury daily.
This probably wont appease everyone but the timeline is very hit and miss , she has clients back from ankle fracture in 6-8 weeks sometimes its 4-5 months......sometimes even longer
A lot of its quality of rehab sometimes its just luck and genetics.
Everyone will probably have a better timeframe a month post surgery .
I wouldnt be wasting too much energy speculating how long it will be , cos noone really knows .
This farmers strength you talk of is commonly known as TuckitusNo need to bulk this kid, he already has what they call "farmers" strength. He'll get vice like eventually.

This one is a shame. Thought he was close a few weeks back.Seamus still indefinite as well. Surely they have got more of an idea. Understand when it’s a knee or a serious injury requiring twelve month rehab but ‘indefinite’ sucks for the supporters.
Seamus had to back off from training because he felt pain. Injury recovery is not an exact science. Its different for each person sometimes it truly is hard to gauge and you don't want to come out and say two weeks when in Birchalls case he was two weeks away and then he would have swelling or have pain or have a soft tissue. You can't win in these scenariosSeamus still indefinite as well. Surely they have got more of an idea.
