Prediction Changes v Hawthorn

Wow, people on here are getting carried away. I want Sturt in too, but he’s missed a year of footy, so it makes sense for him to have a couple of games at peel.

Watson deserves to come in for young. Fyfe for Schultz. And then banfield for Colyer? That’s probably enough changes. With any luck sturt Comes in next week, logue the following, tucker soon too. I’m sure treacy will get his chance when he’s ready - but he’s an 18yo rookie tall, don’t expect too much!

Why does Watson deserve a game, he was a liability in his last outing.
Banfield is depth, lower depth at that . He is coming of a long injury layoff, why pick him.
Neither are part of our future.

I agree with ya but do you take your chances with an underdone Logue or do you take your chances with a rookie like Leno Thomas?

I don't mind Watson. I feel he's done a pretty good job at times and is worth persevering with. Banfield is just all a bit meh. Another non-genuine forward in our forward line.

Last week I was in the "no need to rush Treacy" camp. This week not so much. I feel Sturt should come back in as well.

JLo will be held accountable with how we go as any coach is but it's not the team selection choices I'd make.

Calming down from the shock, Sturt not playing I will accept JUST. He has been out for a very long time and they are being cautious given what happened to Pearce and Hamling - I still think its the wrong move and JL is stupidly conservative but I can see the reasoning.

I dont accept Meek over Treacy (for reasons already stated) and I will flip a lid if Crowden plays for Peel instead of Banfield given they have missed the same amount of time and play the same role.

I have never seen Treacy play so perhaps he lacks agility in a game situation but on paper he is ...

Shorter than Patrick Cripps
Sub-3 sec at the 20m sprint
94kg (which isnt a lot for a 194cm AFL player - Pavlich was 192cm & 99kg)

This makes him -- on paper -- the same size as an Olympic sprinter like Usain Bolt.

I just don't see that he necessarily makes the team more cumbersome.

Based on what I have seen of Banfield it wouldn't surprise me if he was more athleticlly dynamic than Bailey.

In real life does Treacy lack agility and/or look cumbersome and/or lack repeat efforts?

Going into the game with only one genuine key forward and two rucks to chop and change at CHF is inexcusable. Yes Treacy will have a lot of pressure but he's the only other key forward that's fit.

What he said ^^^
100% logical and rational.
We all sook when we get injuries, but yet we all sook when we ease blokes back in through the WAFL.
I really feel for the coaching/fitness staff.
Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

From the limited I've seen, there is limited agility there, and he is quick in straight lines but cant turn. However, when you compare this to Darcy as a FF who has the agility of a blue whale on land and is about as fast as one as well, its a no-brainer

thats an astute point.

I know it's kinda old fashioned but what's the problem with the two ruckmen interchanging off the bench and playing a genuine forward in the forward line? I just don't get it.

Losing a tall target up fwd which Lobb wpuld usually fill or Treacy could. Cooked Tabs and our Ruckman is piss poor.

If you want desperation from the players then two very fringe out of contract players coming in should be an injection of it. I'd rather elite talent but those two are playing for their careers at this point.
I swear you could justify the killing fields if you put your mind to it.
If true, these are Harvey level selections. I guess we don't know they're true yet, we wait until Saturday.

If that happens, I think this place may go nuclear
Yeah. Just trying to make some kind of sense to the smoke signals.

I think we looked a lot better with a genuine contested mark at half-forward against GWS. Doesnt have to be Fyfe, but it does need to be someone who the oppo KPD have to respect.

(Although how much was fue to a lack of pressure v decent CHF outlet?? Jury is probably still out)

And last week we lacked some defensive pressure around the stoppage. Banfield has probably played his best footy as a defensive midfielder.

Its just hard to work out what we are doing ATM.

Is JLo being conservative or do we have a coach that respects others who are specialists in their field.
Also on Banfield, I hope he plays midfield as that was the role he was playing when drafted.
