If you're looking to add some experience, there's ex-Carlton captain Katie Loynes and ex-Mel/GWS/Gee footballer Maddie Boyd.

Loynes is a tough nugget inside mid that you'll probably get a year out of, while Boyd is a taller athletic player, who can play HBF or HFF and you could get a few years out of.

Since they were delisted, you could pick up one of them with a late round pick.

My feeling is though that you won't pick up an experienced player and Burkey will again lean towards youth.

Loynes would add depth to the midfield but will be 36 in 2022. Boyd would be an excellent fit for our system, she's playing very well in the VFLW this season averaging 12 disposals, 4 tackles and 96 ranking points.

Burke said in his post season press conference that we'll be active in the trade period and that adding depth would be nice.

Aisling McCarthy second in the bnf at West Coast. We lose lots of good players, hope they can keep the current crop together, but im sure the AWFL will work out how to force more Bulldog women to move. Seems like an unwritten rule.

Talent incubator for the AFLW , we have given up a lot of talent to other teams 🙄

We lost only 1 player during the 2020 trade season, the least of any club and most of our list is already signed for 2022.

Was she any good? Lol

Just played the 2 games in R3 and R4 and showed some good signs but struggled with the pace of the game. She was injured for the entire 2020 season and played no state league footy due to COVID last year so it's understandable.

She's been playing very well in the VFLW so far this year and with a full season of VFLW and hopefully an uninterrupted pre-season she will fit in nicely to our midfield next year.

Good to hear. Her dad is my all-time favourite.

Interesting article from the ABC News site on women's footy in the 1950s in the Western Suburbs. (Teddy and Charlie both featured):

Gilmore, Collins, Reynolds and Duffy in the photo too, but no mention. 🙁

I think Brennan ended up leading the league in contested marks at the end of the year so it was a solid year.
Nah Izzy lead the league in contested marks for a second year running and by a long way: 21CM's - 7 clear of second place with 14.
Brennan had 13.
