Steph Curry could miss miss next 500 threes and still have a better 3 point percentage than Ray Allen.
The standard of posting around here lately..I believe this thread was created by admin to determine what percentage of people post drunk on BF. As it stands right now that number is 32%.
No votes for Antoine “Tippy Toes” Walker
I dont think Steve Smith ever played cricket bro.Curry finds the middle of the bucket the way Steve Smith finds the middle of the bat.
No idea how Steph scores against this defense...
Steph is the best 3 point shooter ever.
Defence in the 90s was tougher than it is today, but it wasn't tougher on 3s because teams took so few of them. Steph, Dame, Hield, Houston Beard shot more 3s than teams did in the 90s. People say Jordan wasn't a great 3 point shooter. In his career he attempted 1.7 of them a game. That would place him 11th on the 2020/21 Warriors. His career high was 3.6, that would place him 5th. Different era, different tactics. I actually think Curry would've been wasted in the 90s because coaches would discourage shooting 10-15 3s a game, particularly when even someone as good as Curry is going to go 0 for 10 sometimes. He would probably get to the bucket less because Ewing or Robinson or someone would kill him, would shoot more mid range shots and get more assists. IMO anyway.
What gets a bit lost is that shooting is more than just shooting 3s or getting further and further away from the 3 point line and still maintaining a good shooting percentage. 3 point shooting overall gets better and better as it has become a bigger focus, but there aren't many guys like Curry who still shoot 40% attempting ridiculous 3s and running around in circles for 24 seconds until they get a split second of open space. If Curry got to be a corner 3 guy that no one cared about he would probably shoot 50-60%. Curry and Dame each shot 8/16 from 3 and Team Lebron 31/61 in the All Star Game. That's what no pressure can do.

Jordan attempted 1844 jump shots, 169 of them from 3. Curry 1489 jump shots, 1082 from 3. Both scoring leader, both MVP. Different eras, very different tactics. Someone like Curry is more likely to get to the mid range and look for a pass out to the 3 point line than shoot a contested shot as Jordan would have. Analytics and all that.
KD deserves some credit for the marksman that he is. A very good 3 point shooter (5 seasons 40%+) and shoots from anywhere inside the arc. Member of the 50-40-90 club too. His height and length means he can maintain his natural shooting stroke and still shoot over people. Someone like Jordan used his athleticism to jump higher, get defenders off balance, shoot fadeaways etc. to make contested shots. KD just walks up and says 'You're 6'8''? That's cute I am built like a python' and shoots over you.
The commentary is stupid, but watching the video on mute, you're absolutely kidding yourself if you think that level of defense wasn't run of the mill in the 80s and 90s.Geez that guy has a hard on for LeBron.
That video was trash. Defense was much more physical in the 90's and 80's. That two minute video with ridiculous commentary isnt gonna change that.
Steph is the greatest shooter of all time and it's not really close. Only Ray Allen and maybe Klay get anywhere near him.
I'd actually forgotten about KD too. I'd have him up there with Klay and Ray Allen in trailing Steph as GOAT shooters.
Yeah mate... thats all ive done. Was watch a doco on the Bad Boys. You've got me there. The commentary is stupid, but watching the video on mute, you're absolutely kidding yourself if you think that level of defense wasn't run of the mill in the 80s and 90s.
I'm sure you watched a doco on the Bad Boys once and thought that was how all defense was played in the league. Nup, there were so many trash teams especially after the merger and following expansion through the 80s and 90s which diluted the quality of the league massively.
