Ratts will turn it around,
Would love Soloman & Leppitch around him
I think this is the key. Dimma was a spud until they cleaned the assists out.

I think the best answer is to fill the ranks with the best possible so that we have internal options when Ratts' contract finishes.
Right now there's not a one of them l want as the senior and I'd still rather Ratts sees success at StKilda.

And lose 150k of his Ambassador money?

Not likely. Some time in the future for sure.
We could offer him an Ambassadorship.

Could still earn 150.

Well $1.50 per hour anyway.

Plus tips.

Plus all the chips he can pinch 😉

Gotta wonder why the hell skrob is the mid coach
Brendon Lade is probably a really nice guy, and the players apparently like him, but I don't see anything close to a good forward structure from us this year.

At Port and Richmond he worked with the ruckmen, why is he our forwards coach?

Might be a good time to rethink continually recruiting mature aged players and apply our recruiters' skills to finding youth through the draft process.
We keep throwing away next years star recruits for this years' shiny mature aged player. Our age profile is starting to accumulate at the upper end again ala Ross Lyon era. Concentrate on kids. Rotate this process once we have a better age profile then we can top up on available mature aged players again.

Sorry for the intrusion as i was reading along quietly until i came across this post regarding 'spud assistants'
The main spud assistant we had was Brendon Lade which Dimma had with him from the start

was the best thing that happened that cleanout and the end of Lade

finally someone apart from me has finally said it!!!

what gives hammil so much free reign. the guy was in charge of our forwards when we struggled to score under richo. gets moved back and our defences goes to sh*te.

is he being groomed to be a senior coach of our club someday or something? is there something we are missing here?
I've been saying this for 18 months actually.

Said when we appointed Ratts it was the perfect opportunity to get some new blood in, couldn't understand what Hammil had done to get a promotion.

There was an argument that it might have been hard to find quality assistants but last off season was the perfect opportunity.

Yeah it's a worry for sure.

amazing the defence you can start to put up to questioning when you win some flags:

can you imagine if ratts had won a flag last year, brad hills form goes to s**t and he can just say "Well he's playing to our system and in doing so we win a flag... what he gets paid is how much we value him... so tata"

Yeah Yeah your right on but s**t we could do with a bit of that attitude ....i dont think he said pleasing once or even hindsight or anything else i didnt like but as you say ...success gives a lot of latitude!

That’s awesome. I’m probably by myself in this opinion but I really like Dimma as coach. He’s worked his arse off to get these boys playing the cohesive and competitive brand of footy that has them a current power in the league. A perfect example of how a good coach and a good team can become great by sticking to a solid system.

I hope you are being serious and not in some way being facetious because I think he's brilliant he seems to balance the dark and the light the passion and the poise extremely well!

Of course I’m serious. I wouldn’t go to that much trouble if I was being facetious believe me. I just like the way he presents himself in the media.

Pretty sure that’s what Lethlean was getting at in his interview the other day.
Draft young players at both the mid season and end of year drafts. Surely we only go after free agents now.
