He ain’t american.

Oliver moved to America in 2007 and became a U.S. citizen in 2019.

He's a polemicist whose show appeals to his Democrat base. He uses selective evidence, hyperbole and cheap shots to make overt political points. I watched the apparent takedown of Carlson by Oliver. It fell really flat without the canned laughter. Is that the best he can do? Dredge through someone's college yearbook photos to discredit them. Who didn't have some silly views when they were 20? In a later video, apparently Carlson's crime was wearing a blazer and a dickie bow - while espousing anti-racist views. Oliver is not exactly a working class or multi-ethnic hero. He attended the very white and elite Christ's College, Cambridge and was a member of the very white Cambridge Footlights comedy group. He's a typical leftist entitled grifter.

He is as English as a cup of tea.

i also agree that the carlson piece was flat. Oliver has done some great pieces in the past but the Carlson one was not much. like many on the left he seems to think that claiming someone is a racist is an automatic massive takedown and ends a discussion. It’s not in many if not most situations. The irony is the Olivers comedy is often based on significant racial stereotypes. as an Englishman he loves to do racist caricatures of the French, Germans, italians, scotish, New Zealanders, aussies and Middle East.

Just because he’s promoting white replacement conspiracy and says racist things, people think he’s a racist.

It’s like the word doesn’t mean anything any more!!!111
I can’t believe I’m defending tucker Carlson who is currently one of the most dangerous men in America. But he does not advocate a conspiracy theory about white genocide. What he advocates is that democrats want to increase the number of immigrants for political reasons cos immigrants tend to vote for democrats.

he is probably right. If I was a democrat strategist I would be pushing that point. It’s good political policy. where he is wrong however is that it’s not a big deal. If you dont like the democrats pushing immigration then don’t vote for them. This is how democracy works. It’s not an anti American conspiracy as tucker would like to label it.

It’s all so innocent.

The theory he pushes is the “White Replacement” theory. Those who push that theory generally don’t say it will happen in a violent genocide, although they love to fearmonger about non-white crime.

They say the “white replacement” part comes from 1, whites being outbred by non-whites. And 2, non-whites being brainwashed into voting for marxists. So Tucker is tapping into white people’s fears they (as the dominant voting block) will be “replace” by non-whites who will vote for marxists and cement those policies in American society.

Even if you don’t think there was anything racist in what Tucker said plenty of online neo-Nazis and white supremacists have embraced Tucker’s comments as being in support of their positions.

It’s called a dog whistle for a reason. Even though on the face of those comments there’s nothing literal that could be pointed to as racist that segment was designed to evoke a certain reaction in his mostly white target audience. And it worked.

Jon Stewart was a comedian who became the most trusted news anchor in America. John Oliver is annoying, a wannabe whose show has brought the worst crap that you’d never even heard about to your attention. He would only get hired in America, so he became an "American". Oliver rejects the journalism tag, he's not a good comedian either. Jon Stewart lampooning Tucker Carlson was better than Oliver will ever dream to do.

Yes so it’s not about whites being killed by non whites. The white replacement theory conspiracy is about white genocide. This is not about genocide as you say. It’s about immigration and higher birth rates of immigrants.

you get he is right by the way on this point. Immigrants overwhelmingly vote democrat. Anti socialist Venezuelans in Miami being one of the few exceptions. It’s just not a big deal. It’s not a conspiracy. But there is also nothing wrong with it.

And not sure what you’re trying to say? That Tucker Carlson isn’t pushing a racist conspiracy theory?

It’s east to see why migrants are less likely to support a party which now appeals the race baiting whites. Migrants generally have a more worldly view and experience of living in different cultures, meaning they don’t fall for the race baiting dog whistles used by the current GOP to appeal to disaffected white conservatives who generally have never left their rural white enclaves.

And you’re wrong about the Miami voters, that’s anti-communist Cubans not Venezuelans, supporters of the Batista dictatorship who had a massive sook when they were kicked out of power and have brainwashed their kids into continuing that sooking for generations.

I doubt the Vietnamese Americans and a good section of the Chinese diaspora are that keen on parties seen to be of the left.

I dont understand? Are you now supporting Carlson and believe it’s a horrible thing the democrats are doing In promoting higher immigration for political reasons.
No no, it's just Tucker is innocently asking questions. They all happen to be about race and gender and how white manly men are under threat. But that is just a coincidence. That's all. #freetucker

If you want to know what a race baitor is then just look in a mirror.

You can't just look at Carlson's odd speech/segment in isolation.

If you watch his shows regularly they're always about the same issues with a different angle. It's always fear for white people losing their privilege.

Whether it's
- immigrants diluting the voting pool (and he was specific about it being 3rd world immigrants, which is code for brown people, white Europeans are fine apparently)
- Wokeness taking racism/sexism/homophobia out of streaming platforms
- Democrats rioting all over the country and not being punished (they're being punished)
- Poor Capitol invaders being punished for committing serious crimes (including likely sedition)
- BLM being a communist plot
- Biden being a socialist

There's no let up, no good news stories, it's just fear 24/7. In isolation, maybe he steers close enough to ideology for some of it to be excused. But if you look at his entire body of work, there's no doubt his agenda is protecting white male privilege in any way he can, including racism, sexism and fear-mongering.

Telling viewers to openly harass anyone wearing a mask.
That the smartest thing to be telling someone in a country where the 2nd ammendment is a thing ??.

Seriously, hope this half-man gets hounded the rest of his days.

All the sweet green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again

Thought this must have been a joke. Should have known better.

“So the next time you see someone in a mask on the sidewalk or on the bike path, do not hesitate. Ask politely but firmly, ‘Would you please take off your mask? Science shows there is no reason for you to be wearing it. Your mask is making me uncomfortable.’”
Your mask is making me uncomfortable :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

Nice one, Tuck. America, land of the free!

You say it’s about white male privilege and then half your points have nothing to do with white male pivlege. Biden being a socialist. BLM being a communist plot. Democrats rioting and not being punished. None of that has anything to do with white male privilege.
