* Opposition strong & in form: tick
* Selwood ducking effectively: tick

Yep, we’re home & hosed in this one.

When it rains it pours...

Of which if it rains it's probably the only thing stopping a decent sized win for them.

If Melican plays 5m off Cameron this week he'll dead set kick 15 goals.

I go into every game believing we can win, knowing we can lose (hence I can be reasonably calm about GWS, GC).

These are the lineups from last year. Obviously Cameron in is big for them, but Danger out is massive (given he usually causes us trouble). A few other changes for them, some good, some worse.

Believe we played McCartin down back anyway, so if he's back, he takes Aliir's spot. We might keep both Brand and Melican in the side since we also had Fox playing then. We played Clarke, Bell and Thurlow - so assuming any other ins are amongst Stephens, McD, Campbell, COR etc, I think that's a positive (I know Stephens played last year but we've got the likes of Warner, Gulden, Wicks in now). Heeney back, hopefully improved from last week, averages out the loss of Reid somewhat.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, we turned up last year, with arguably a worse side on paper and less mature in our plans (assuming we can actually execute it this week) and got to within a kick of a team that went on to play in the GF (and would have missed top 4 if they'd lost). They were down for a fair chunk of the day sure, but it goes to show if we bring the heat, anything is possible.

I re-watched that game the other day.
Heaps of similarities re game style of this season.
Swans were denied a win by a bit of Petrik gold.

SYDNEY’S backline could receive a much-needed boost ahead Saturday night’s game against Geelong, with Dane Rampe and Tom McCartin both a chance to play..

Kennedy's interview - unlikely

Co-captain Dane Rampe is unlikely to play as he recovers from surgery on a broken finger, but knowing the powers of recuperation Rampe has shown in the past, Kennedy wasn't willing to rule out his courageous co-captain before the Swans' main training session of the week.
"He's an outside chance," Kennedy said with a laugh.
"I think it's a tough call generally given the calibre that Ramps is.
"Not just what he offers with regards to being able to stop the opposition forward line, but the energy he provides, the confidence he gives and direction to a lot of our other players on the ground especially down back."

50 bucks for a ticket to the game ? is this normal for the SCG? surely the plan for swans would be to pack it out on friday

Brand isn’t much at all , he goes for McCartin

Gould for hewett as a 3/4 tall that can come across and help McCartin that can rebound and let Dawson attack more

He is a true defender unlike hewett

Struck me he had more clues than Melican and did better,
