NOTHING

Does this change what the Saints were going to offer in any way? Thats what determines the compensation after all. I dont think this changes the outcome. We didnt see him as our future, and tried to convince the Saints to up their offer to get better compensation. Saints to their credit held strong. You can only play the cards you hold and Adelaide held the weaker hand with a player not in our future, and lack of high offers caused by Crouch himself and his drug issue, not the club trying to bluff their way into a higher offer.

We say nothing, Saints offer stands, outcome remains the same. At least we tried

For someone who doesn't think we have any idea what is going on in the inner sanctum and should stop voicing our opinions on stuff we don't know anything about, you seem to have a lot of theories about what is going on in the inner sanctum? Which one is it?

How do you know they didn't add the 5th year on a trigger to Crouch's contract once Kelly said we'd match - BEFORE the contracts were lodged - knowing full well we wouldn't match because all year we'd said we wouldn't give him a 5 year deal? Triggers don't count in the AFLs compo formula. Maybe if he just shuts up and doesn't say something stupid that we all know is a bluff, they offer that money over 4 years, and we get a band higher as a result. Either way, bluffing isn't the play, shutting up is.

It's taken nearly a week for the club to admit to us that Lynch isn't fit enough to play AFL football at the moment, and they still can't admit he wasn't fit enough to play 15 minutes of AFL football last week or should have been ready to go when needed. Add it to the list of utensil-ups you can apologise for next time they pretend they stuff up and expect us all to believe it was the plan all along.

Pretty embarassing to lie and say Lynch was match fit a few days ago only to say he's injured now
Well.... they could have gone all in with this, and named him to play, and started him on the ground, just to shut everyone up. Instead, they swallowed their pride and done the right thing. I'd rather they do that, than the former.

Lynch isn't listed on the injury list, poor form saw him dropped from the starting 18 to the sub last week and as the sub his form was still sh*t so he got dropped but likely won't play with "treatment" in the SANFL......

"It became clear that Tom Lynch is requiring game day treatment to be able to play with an ongoing toe issue" and now he is injured, like what happened to Sandilands.
So his inflamed toe joint wasn't an injury last week, but this week it is? How stupid would you have to be to believe that?

You need to give it up mate. You're embarrassing yourself. Just admit the club selected an injured player. They looked at the experience profile of our list last week and shat their pants which led them to * up at selection. The club has been way too conservative with selection for a long time. It was like that under Pyke and unfortunately for us, Nicks isn't much better in this regard. He talks a big game about having a young list, competition for spots etc. but when the heat is on, he goes with experience every time, even if the player clearly isn't up to it.

Like I said, this is the same situation as Sandilands who was playing with "treatment" from a sore toe for weeks and was eventually rule out for the season with the tuff toe injury.

The club is just trying to save face. To admit he was injured the whole time just opens them up to more criticism. You think it's a just a coincidence that they finally admit he's injured after a week of getting blasted in the media? Are you deluding yourself into thinking that Lynch's chronic toe inflammation suddenly took a turn for the worse over the course of this week? Come on man.

Why not? This happened to Sandilands didn't it.

This thread is about Tom Lynch. I'm not interested in Sandilands. For all I know, they pulled the same kind of bullshit over there. Since when are Freo put on a pedestal?
No, doctors have said you can continue to play with "treatment" if this doesn't make the toe soreness worst on game day and then allow the toe to recover after.

Cmon mate do you read what you type?

He wasn't injured, it was his poor form that saw him come out of the team and made sub.

Any chance his poor form was because he was injured - most of us could see he was playing injured (prior to last week).

But now he is omitted from even the medical sub he has an injury and won't be playing reserves.

Sorry to sound harsh but use your eyes and brain, don't rely on the dribble that comes out of the club. They are still spinning garbage to the supporters.
