It was appalling and shows how little idea he has

he refers to the 2002 ramsgate hotel incident

...ok then, what about the demolition derby or the london derby?

there have been some great derbys over the years and the rivalry is still there

prior to the eagles current run it was 20-21. it looks like we are about to spend a few years catching up again.

port had their period under primus with the tarps etc, im sure the showdown wasnt $hit hot then.

zzz snooze
Since Lyon/Simpson took over the derbies have really lost their aura compared to when Connoly/Harvey/Worsfold were in charge. I understand the "it's just another game" mantra from their point of view though.

Hey Freo fans,

On our blog we provide in depth analysis on teams and players throughout the season.

This week, one of our talking points was Luke Ryan and how he is central to Fremantles strong defensive whilst producing scoring opportunities with his ball use.

Would love to get your thoughts on his year so far
Really good look at one of our favourite players. Always appreciate a focus on one of our own.

You (the media) really have to stop calling Justin Longmuir "Longmire" though. It's both spelt and pronounced differently.

Haha well pointed out! I knew his name is Longmuir but for some reason spelled it that way

Thanks - I've corrected it

Big fan of this. Everyone should refer to him as Longmire.

For the neutral footy fan, Western Derbies are generally a snore fest.

ANZAC Day, Easter Monday, Showdowns generally produce much more interesting games and so are way more "marquee" than the Derby.

Watched it, it’s a wonder he doesn’t get the top jobs isn’t it??
Surley he has just given up at this point? Seems to have upped his media exposure and isn't currently coaching any side except the fairly cushy U18 state carnival gig. Only way to become a head coach these days is to be an assistant at a somewhat successful club or to have been a somewhat successful head coach in the past. If Suma wanted to the top gig he'd stop being unproffesional in the media grab a head coaching job at state level and work his way into being an assisstant at any club that isn't in WA(he's burned his bridges here.) That's the only way he'd get close to getting a gig. And at his age that would be a bit of an uphill battle.

Didnt he have chances to be an assistant elsewhere but didn’t want to leave WA?

Sumich gets plenty of hate on here, mainly because of the Lyon factor.
But no love for his role at Freo or the role he played.
Sure he isn’t a rhode scholar, caused friction in the end, but he does know a thing or two about junior footy.
Always promotes WA players, and the media gig is a smart move.
His honesty is refreshing right or wrong, at least he gives his opinion.

He cops it on here because he habitually denigrates the club.

So much to unpick here

The hell is going on here? Emotionally preparing themselves for a loss so they won’t be devastated.
I've noticed that Quarterbrain the Reporterstain has been attempting to project as a neutral, unbiased reporter, whose impartiality should be revered and celebrated state-wide! We see right through it Braden, and your instructions regarding "How to lose a game in ten seconds", doubled as a method for how to lose a reader base in ten seconds!

The only thing he should be allowed to give an opinion on is carrots and the best way to farm them. That is the only thing he knows anything about because he certainly knows * all about football.
