We have to try Hayes and it shouldn't be when and if Lycett goes down. If you can't do it against a bottom 4 side then when?
As bad as the crows are though you don’t treat the showdown just as a match against a bottom 4 team. It’s been proven in the past anything can happen in a showdown and weakening our side coz we believe we’re playing a bottom side could prove costly.

So when do you give Hayes a run?

Yeah Woodcock h really done it for me , he’s quite a good young player but not good enough to hold his place just yet , he might get there . I’d swap him out but for Boak first , Farrell if Rozee doesn’t get up . McKenzie if Burton doesn’t get up or Leinert if McKenzie is only in for Clurey or Jonas being injured or out of form .
Williams might be an emergency this week , he’s the next first gamer probably or Hayes but I don’t think so this week .
Ladhams could almost replace Marshall but again not this week , he needs to hold his marks consistently and improve his ruck work so a bit more practice at the MaggieS

It's going to be an interesting team selection week. Tempting to spit the dummy after a disappointing loss, especially when quite a few players in SANFL had good games. I'm tipping selectors hold their nerve - we're still a big chance for top 4 (or even top 2). It's a long season and every side is having ups & downs, untimely injuries, etc. Must have a strong win this week to make everyone feel better.

Sounds like Boak fit. He possibly pushes Houston (who's clearly carry injury), out of mid rotation. If he can't tackle and mark properly, maybe he plays wing? SPP/Drew probably did enough to retain spots for Crows, but longer term need to tidy up disposals to keep spots.

Must be some doubt about Burton. Happy with either Lienert or McKenzie if not fit.

Hartlett must be skating on thin ice. Bergman & Frederick can cover, depending on match ups. Think he'll survive thanks to brownie points he's earned throughout career & showdown experience, rather than recent form, but he'll be lucky. Was very quiet against Brisbane and of course there was that brain fade.

If Houston needs a spell, I like Bonner on a wing. Bonner shouldn't play half back. He's too much of a liability in marking contests and tends to freeze when caught holding the ball.

Marshall could pay the price for shocker v Bris. Biggest long-term issue is he lacks physical presence as a 2nd or 3rd tall. Crows have a lack of decent tall defenders. Ladhams extra height likely to cause them more problems than Marshall so tempting to shuffle deck again. Dixon should have a big day.

I'm tipping only change to 22 will be Woodcock for Boak.

Possible team IMO -
Burton?(Lienert if not fit), Clurey, Jonas
Hartlett?, Aliir, DBJ
Amon, Wines, Houston/Bonner?
Rozee, Dixon, Gray
Fantasia, Marshall/Ladhams? Georgiadis
Lycett, Boak, SPP
Motlop, Bergman, Drew, Frederick?,
sub: Woodcock/Farrell?
