Interesting season 2021 comparison....
Both turned out to be another club's "treasure".
3....2....1 before 1970crow tries to make more of it than it being a mere comparison.

He is in some ways, others not so much.I prefer to see him as a Greenwood upgrade.
Ben Keays (23/02/19997) given his age profile and salary cost is a way better fit for us going forward than either Hugh Greenwood (06/03/1992) and Jarryd Lyons (22/07/1992), and I doubt either would be adding anything significantly more to our current game day exploits.
Hopefully Keays the Time Traveller can also help us with inside info on the next 18,000 years of the AFL
Age wise Keays definitely fits better, we're very bare in that age bracket, but both Greenwood and Lyons would help with our current stoppage clearances issues. Greenwood is 5th in the league at 4.1, Lyons 6th on 4.0, Keays is 49th in the league at 2.5, though hopefully Sloane back (who is 2nd in the league at 4.7) can fix that up so it's less of an issue and Keays can be freed up a bit more.Ben Keays (23/02/19997) given his age profile and salary cost is a way better fit for us going forward than either Hugh Greenwood (06/03/1992) and Jarryd Lyons (22/07/1992), and I doubt either would be adding anything significantly more to our current game day exploits.
Keays will only look better when he is the 3rd or 4th midfielder instead of the 1st.
If his disposal was cleaner do you think we’d be picking him up for free in the rookie draft?

Both hard tackling, averaging kicking left footers. Keays better out in the open, Hugh a better mark in contested auitations.
Hugh... when he played for us anyway... went missing for entire quarters, sometimes halves, of footy at a time. And it happened in pretty much every single game.He is in some ways, others not so much.

Absolute credit to himself, this bloke. Might lack a little polish, but makes up for it with his incessant effort, hardness and undying will to never give up.
Might not be the long term solution once we draft some midfielders with elite skills, but in the interim it has been an absolute pleasure watching him elevate his game since he arrived at the AFC.
A credit to himself and was instrumental in a team building win for the ages tonight.
Well done Ben.
That's an odd thing to say. No one is even contemplating giving him away. He'll play out his prime at the crows and rightly so. Might even earn a gold jacket on this year's form.If we give him away its the exact same as Lyon all over again
is this the bloke that got caught holding the ball in the last minute but the ump didn't have the courage to call it against a home crowd? Is it that Ben Keays?
He's the guy that span one of your players around 4 times without getting called.is this the bloke that got caught holding the ball in the last minute but the ump didn't have the courage to call it against a home crowd? Is it that Ben Keays?
