Review Dogs 96 def Power 77 - Rd 9, 2021

I think Naughton may have the best range within which he can track the ball for his marks I’ve ever seen.

by that I mean, the drop zone can be a distance away where defenders assume based on the laws of physics that he is not a threat to market.

but Naughts closes thats space so fast that he surprises with his ability to launch at the pill

I LOVE it

you just know whenever he’s anywhere near it with a run at it he is gobbling it up
Nothing more exciting in footy right now then calling in a Naughty screamer while the balls still 50m away, like you said you just know when there’s nothing that can stop him from marking the footy

Libba with all 10 coaches votes, deservedly so given he was in beast mode.

What if Richmond kicked their first half goals rather than missed. The same goes both ways. If both teams kicked straighter in the first half the half time score would have been very similar we had 4 more shots and we were 19 points up.

100% you need to take your chances and against port we took our chances as did they.

Against Richmond we didn’t take our chance but neither did they. Yes if we took our chances and were 9.5 rather than 5.9 at half time we could have been massively in front, but that’s ignoring the fact Richmond were 2.8 and had they been 8.2 instead it still would have been close.

If one team is accurate and one is inaccurate you can use the if we kicked straight stuff but when both teams have kicked terribly you can’t with out acknowledging it goes both ways.
If my great Grandmother was not dead, she would be alive. Kind of the gist of this discussion.

OG, how do they decide who the target is when the ball is kicked to a pack at the top of the goal square?

My six-year-old son never ceases to amaze me. This is the first year he has shown a real interest in the footy. I'll wake up to him watching YouTube videos of each team's club song, or navigating the AFL App looking at match highlights and analysing the ladder.

This morning he said:

"Dad, you know what doesn't make sense? Melbourne are on top of the ladder and Hawthorn are second last but how come Hawthorn beat the Bulldogs in a pretend match and the Bulldogs beat Melbourne in a pretend match?"

NB: He refers to practice (pre-season) matches as a "pretend match". :D

So insightful. I might apply for him to replace Garry Lyon as an expert specialist commentator.

I’d really like to see Weightman get a good long string of games even if he has a few quiet ones because I think he’s style of play is what we’ve been missing since the 2016 finals series e.g. Dahlhaus Picken Clay Smith manic forward pressure and goal sense.
We really need to just pick one of these kids be it weightman, cav, west and just persist with them and let them grow into the game

A funny story. I was checking in at the airport and West Coast Eagle Jack Darling was checking in next to me and I said "See ya Darling" and the young woman doing the check in looked at me funny. Then the next person who checked in was, to give him his media title, Melbourne Porsche driver, Richard Pusey. It didn't end well.

how flat did bevos joke fall. The journos gave him nothing
I honestly don’t think they got it. Very slow on the uptake, most of these so-called journalists, probs don’t know Jordon Sweet, and weren’t listening just getting ready to butt in with the next mundane question.

Similar story to me when I was once at the Perth Airport.

As I was collecting my luggage, a teammate asked me to name four of the best AFL players to have spent time playing in Western Australia.

As I answered, "Black, Cousins, Swallow, Cox" a female baggage handler walked past me and gave me the dirtiest look you're ever likely to see.
