Current NRL player Jamil Hopoate arrested in $155 million cocaine bust

Hopuate as part of a trio, has been charged with supplying half a tonne of cocaine out of the UK with an estimated street value of nearly $155 million.

Police say Australian Border Force officers found 514kg of cocaine hidden in a consignment of toolboxes which arrived in Sydney on Saturday. Police stopped his van in Minto, Hopuate fled and they chased him down. A woman was driving.

Even weirder is the bail was put up by Will Hopoate putting up 50k of his house. So the court didnt even ask for actual money. Just the potential of getting it?

And people wonder why our drug rates are through the roof

Personally, I'd have plumped for: "I wonder if he's been asked to finger his co-conspirators." Just saying.

Alternatively: "Mr Hopoate's payment was thought to be digital."
