12,bloody hell that's a cull
Maybe should have used our 2 other available picks on Wednesday night
Probably. If it was me I would cut the list hard at the end of the year.

We have a lot of players either about to retire or on the chopping block.

Alabakis
McKernan
Wood
Hunter
Clavarino
Joyce
Geary
Ryder
Roberton
Kent
Hannebery
Frawley
McKenzie

No surprises if any of those retired or were delisted.

This Parker stuff is going nowhere.

Now I’m no expert.

So let’s check with Shifter who can always be relied upon for an unbiased and unemotional analysis of a players ability [emoji41]

Its not really about PARKER so much as it is about the unfathomable nature of the decision making of those that manage the list that the PARKER decision represents. There is clearly nothing rational or logical or even directionally intuitive. It appears to be made on the run, ad hoc and without any real plan....not unlike the way we are playing our football.
The voices about PARKER represent the dissatisfaction with the general non apparent strategy. Now sure some of you genius strategists/analysts see an inherent plan...but for the poor pleb like myself it evades us unfortunately!

Actually I’d say last weeks game by Wood was way better than anything Parker ever produced.

Parker dobbed the same amount of goals in a game. So did one Nick Hind

Kind of want Parker to light it up, but could look very bad on us so fresh off giving the Dons an AA half back for nothing

Its like getting young Cooper, he might be great i have nothing against him but...
2019 we didn't want to draft him.
2020, he didn't play we didn't want to draft him.
2021, a few reserve games and 2 senior games ( Joyce has probably played better senior games as a forward ) and we draft him.

Must've been the vibe, or the lucky dart hit him on the board.

Alabakis - agree
McKernan - agree
Wood - ageee
Hunter - disagree - cut him now.
Clavarino - disagree
Joyce - disagree
Geary - agree
Ryder - god I hope not/agree
Roberton - retired anyway
Kent - agree
Hannebery - god I hope so/agree
Frawley - agree
McKenzie - agree

I think we might hang onto one of Clav or Joyce but everyone else I agree with you here.

You would hope all of Alabakis, McKernan, Hunter and Frawley already have the red line through them.

Robbo already retired. Geary does the same. Ryder gets 1 more year and I doubt Hanners retires early.

A few of Wood, Clav, Joyce, Kent, DMac could get 1 year deals - at this stage I'd put Joyce and DMac ahead of the others but the 2nd half of the season could change things.

Lonie had a game based trigger - played 8 thus far - so would be a good chance to trigger another year.

Dunstan is the question mark for me. Does he get another year as depth? Was clearly out best player in the 2nds so would warrant staying more than everyone (except Ryder) mentioned above. Could a good 2nd half of the year get some interest from other club who need midfield depth? Interesting watch.

Yeah I know about Robbo but he's still on the books so end of year it'll count as a delisting/retirement.

Hopefully Hanners accepts a pay out for a significantly less amount, if he has any dignity he will completely understand how much of a failure it has been.

Ryder we will offer to go on it's really just up to him so if he did retire I wouldn't be surprised.

Regardless there's heaps of players we could easily move on. I hope we go into the draft this year with at least 6 picks and build the list that way. Maybe another couple through the rookie draft. Potentially a player or two that wants to come across.

There's definitely a lot of easy deadwood to get rid of though so I think it's not going to be too stressful for Gags & co to clear out the list.

If Ryder’s fit I’d expect him to continue.
He looks like he’s enjoying himself and you’re a long time retired.
Wishful thinking on my behalf, maybe.
Will be great to have him them to help our rucks as well.

Nobody wanted to draft Marshall, nobody wanted Wilkie. Sam Fisher, not drafted until 23.
Do you think all players are fully developed @ 18?

What if HANNERS gets on the park for the last 8 or so games plays brilliantly with no subsequent injury ....do we not want him to go around again next year! That'd be crazy wouldn't it....I would love him to defy the odds and give us some real gravitas! He has some serious plaudits when he's up and about!
