Dogs land a beauty in Ugle-Hagan - but can they keep him?

I know this seems odd, but considering they have Naughton, and JUH has shown he can be unprofessional and Bevo wont put up with his sh*t,

Why did they match the bid?
He's still young. Discipline and professionalism can be taught and coached.

I'm sure he'll come good - whether it's at the dogs or somewhere else remains to be seen.

The point is holding him back is only going to cause more grief than is otherwise necessary. There is nothing wrong with playing him. How is anyone going to know how he will go unless you play him. That's why other clubs are looking at doing deals to bring him across where he will get that opportunity. Give you an example...Richmond, North Melbourne, Essendon, Carlton, Collingwood etc would play him. Bevo is being a tad foolish in not giving him a go.

Let's humour you for second and assume the Dogs would listen to an offer. What could another club offer trade-wise for a contracted #1 draft pick to a team in a flag window?

They need 1-2 KPDs and a small forward. A May/Jones type + top 10 pick would probably be the starting point. Their window is now.

Pick 6 + our captain (who just got 3rd in our b&f) was the going rate for Boyd. Knowing how much Sam Power stonewalled the Bombers on the Dunkley trade, I'd imagine the asking price would be in that vicinity, if not more. No club would be crazy enough to consider it unless they got truly desperate like we were at the time.

he is a KPP in a good team...It's an unusual situation, as the no 1 pick usually goes to the worst team.... KPP can take a while, because usually they don't have the size to make an impact...

Ignoring the obvious part of this "story" which is that Jamarra has had little to no continuity so far this year to be able to get his fitness to the required level, and been injured twice, the most bemusing thing is people giving Bevo s**t for not playing him. If there's one thing Bevo isn't afraid to do, it's to give the reigns to a kid early in their career when he thinks they're ready to add to the side. We have 2 players on our entire list who have never played a game. Ugle-Hagan and Bedendo, both in their first year. When Bevo thinks they can add something to the team, they'll play. Ugle-Hagan was emergency before he got concussed, so obviously he is close. But he hasn't played a game in a month since then. So are we just meant to cave to media pressure when he's got even less match fitness than he had before?

Fully expect Jamarra to be an A grader at the bulldogs in time.

You dont just hand blokes games becuase they were picked high in the draft.

Dogs doing the right thing across the board here. Same with my club with Phillips.

no one really from last years draft class has hit the ground running too much. Only 3 from the 2020 draft feature in the top 12 of betting for the rising star (Cox, Powell, Thilthorpe) and its unlikely any of them win it.

This is such a different situation as well, with JUH going to a finals team, rather than a garbage team like Walsh and co did when they were drafted

Yeah high quality young KPD + high pick would be a starting point. But since old mate reckons there are lots of clubs in the hunt I would be interested to hear what he reckons they would be offering.
You've failed again to understand the big picture. If their window is now, why is age important? They're 2nd on the ladder, with the biggest hole being their 2nd KPD.

Perhaps try and think about things before flapping your trap as usual.

Not sure any of this is from Jamarra himself. Pretty sure the media frenzy kicked up because Fev had an issue with the club not taking him to Perth "for the experience".
Sounds like he’s been bitching about it to fev who’s then spoken to the media
