Opinion Sack Hinkley 3 - 2021 is worse than 2020 already

The odd thing about 2021 is that if we win those games you’d expect us to win- Gold Coast, Sydney, Hawthorn, St Kilda, Collingwood, GWS, Adelaide and Carlton…

History tells us we’ll find a way to drop at least two of those.

4 minor premierships for 1 GF appearance?

No worries, it's a tough competition and someone has to repeatedly lose home finals.

Would’ve been nice to convert at least one more of those minor premierships and perhaps not make the 07 gf.

Thats the thing, if you poll the supporter base tomorrow you would have about 75% who love the coach, and that goes up to 90% after we beat GC next week.

All you can really do is post memes on the internet until he decides to leave.

I actually think the worm has turned on this.

Sure, sections of this board went early, but I think if you asked every supporter if they think Hinkley is going to win us a flag, less than 50% would say yes.

Ken Hinkley. You saw Nathan Buckley take the lead and do the honourable thing by stepping down during the week. It's time you put the club before yourself and do the same. Go fishing and enjoy your remaining years. You've made enough money to do that.
How many years has Buckley been at Collingwood ? Somewhere north of 20 years. He is arguable their best player ever. He’d absolutely love that club.

Hinkley on the other hand.... He’s screwed the club over and sucked us for far more money than he is worth and delivered absolutely nothing.

He won’t do what right for the club, he will be here until he is sacked and as long as that idiot Koch leads the board Kenny is safe.

Maybe we will be lucky enough that A Vic club makes a play for him, but I recon they all well and truely know he ain’t that good so no one is poaching him.

One of my brothers was a certified FacebookadvertisercommentssectiontwitterportpowerhinkleytilIdietheclubisrightyouarewronghappyclapper until about two weeks ago.

I reckon if he’s finally changed there would be many more like him coming to the realisation Hinkley isn’t winning a flag as coach of the PAFC.

I only know one other Port supporter that has the opinion that Hinkley needs a little more time. But he’s very old and will probably die soon.

Yet despite all those years, 1992 is the year he'd like to re-live.

And how is Barry Curtin going?

Ken Hinkley made the point in a pre Geelong match interview, the players got 4 days off but he didn't get any. He has also mentioned on several occasions that the cut to coaches' salaries was way in excess of the 3% salary cut the players received. Clearly he is underpaid and overworked and should step away for his own good.

If we lose to the Suns this week in Robbie Gray's 250th game, Ken should be sacked before dinner time on Saturday.

Without Robert Gray pulling Ken's arse out of the fire single handedly a number of times I wonder if he'd be sacked already? Nah, probably not.

The only club that's made a play for him has a high water mark of 12th in their entire existence. That tells you something.

Still caused Koch to panic tho.

Consider for a moment what the club’s general outlook would resemble without Chad Wingard’s 2013, Robbie’s 2014 and Boak’s 2020.

All three individual seasons weren’t beyond the realms of raw possibility given their respective talents and abilities, but the realistic odds of consistently performing at such an insanely high level and directly influencing so many crucial wins in those years has to be rated as remote given each man’s individual circumstances (Chad: youth and inexperience; Robbie: first full season after a catastrophic knee injury; Trav: established excellence, but at 31/32 who thought he could peak even higher and move right into the mix of one of the league’s 2 or 3 best?).

We’ve dispensed with one, and the other two are about to get telegrams from the Queen.

Eh, I’m sure we’ll be fine.

I hate the fact that I don't really care any more. I don't think I've watched a post game press conference or read a single article post or pre game for about 3 years now.

I just show up to games each week and hope something has changed.

Would love to this bloke front up to Travis or Robbie and tell them 'it's okay, we'll win a flag in 3 or 4 years, there's no need to be so impatient!'
Trav and Robbie will probably nod in agreement and sign the praises of Ken.

Yep - if we're going down that path, it makes us St. Kilda MK2: near enough is good enough, and before we know it, we too will have our very own 50 year premiership drought.
Nah.

St Kilda move their coaches on. Even ones that get them to finals. Then other times the coach will admit when he isn't doing a good job and sack himself.

Yeah, that's the sense I'm getting too. My barometer for this is the guy I buy my coffee from. He was staunch Hinkley and used to say stuff like "look at Richmond after they didn't sack Hardwick". Spoke to him yesterday and his exact words were "we are never gonma win a flag under hinkley eh...".
