One thing I will say about the umpires in that game - they were awful but awful both ways. Call it accidental fairness.

For a team that should have stars across the park based on their drafting, GWS just seem almost without match winners other than Greene and maybe Kelly. All very well to have Haines, Whitfield, Taranto, Himmelberg, Ward etc but they are mostly contributors rather than out and out match winners.

They look in serious danger of missing the eight. A lot of lost and wasted talent.

They seriously lack spark speed and fire. They really do lack excitement as well.

I laughed for minutes after the siren....loved it!

The commentators will all say that Richmond will win the big games at some point but this was a big game and they got tested and couldn’t quite get there. Been beaten by everyone above them except the Bulldogs. They are not far off full strength now, certainly no worse than any other top eight team. They really should have iced that game with six minutes to go.

Still very dangerous but not unbeatable in big games either.
