Last year Keays spent some time on the wing when all our first choice mids were fit and available. He still performed well there and found the footy.
Some of our other mids have been centre square or nothing players but Keays seems a bit more rounded.
I think we can develop Schoenberg, Berry and Pedlar as mids alongside Keays whereas with Sloane and M Crouch it actually make it harder to develop those guys as midfielders
There is no guarantee. His issues are his brother’s death and most of his mates live in Adelaide from the Riverland. He’s be worth 3 rounder at best, but I would swap depth player for him.I wouldn't.
No guarantees he won't have the same issues here and he has happily extended his contract with the Bombers twice IIRC.
All I've heard is basically anyone from South Australia we're interested in.So who are some of the names we've been apparently into so far?
Dawson
Stephens
Hewett
Rankine
Lukosius
Coleman-Jones
Francis
Dumont
Lipinski??
Wouldn't have an issue if they did TBH, bit I doubt they will have doneWalker re-signs for another year..
Good to see it looks like the club stuck to its guns in only giving year long contracts to over 30’s players..
Fear they probably paid him his current yearly salary though...

Wow... you’ve clearly completely lost the plot havent you..Cheer up, princess, you almost sound disappointed he's signed on.

Fair call. Gives me a bit of hope for McHenry. Similar size and type of player - could do worse than watch how Touk goes about it.If you ever need proof that you can't judge a player after 25 games, have a look at Touk Miller. Middling B grader till he hit 25 years old, killing it now.

I’m bloody happy to see both Tex sign on and, at the same time, the club stick to its own processes when it comes to list management.
Go have a lie down dear... its been a big day for you digging that hole..

Seedsman (who was not cemented at AFL level with the Pies at the time) cost us pick 32
There is NO way Dawson is coming to us for less than that (i.e. Melb's 2nd) lol
Sydney traded Zak Jones for pick 32 and Aliir for Port's future 2nd.
Somewhere in that 30-35 zone is right for a player like Dawson
Poor bugger.. he shouldve come home instead of signing his last contract..
Been through some heartbreaking sh*t losing his brother/best friend to cancer the way he did..
Grew up in a tiny outback SA town with a population of 30 so he and his brother wouldve obviously been bloody close.
Aparently he’s been pretty good this year for the bumbers..
Kelly is a FA isnt he?.. not sure why, if they actually wanted Kelly, essendon would look at a player swap when they could just grab kelly for nothing and trade a contracted Francis to us for something..
Thinking about Crouch and Kelly (both automatic best 22 if fit).....
If you're looking at Brisbane and their build, they were happy to try and get best price for players, in order to stock up talent through trade/draft. Obviously some had extenuating circumstances for going, but.....I'm thinking Jack Redden (pick 17 in 2015) Pearce Hanley (pick 22 in 2016), Tom Rockliff (end of first round 2017) and Schache (2nd and 3rd rounders in 2017).
They also made sure that they had the structure and support in place to become a 'destination' club (Cameron, Neale, Hodge)
And....they drafted well (2016, Mcluggage and Berry), 2017 (Rayner, Bailey and Starcevich).
As much as I'd like to believe that things are changing, I'm not feeling at all optimistic. The club is over reliant on senior players and when they're gone......

He's not but it's probably what it's going to cost.I really don't think Rankine is worth a first rounder anymore
