both AZ and pfizer are only 25-30% effective against delta on first dose. AZ goes up to 60% on second, pfizer 88%. We need people to be fully vaccinated, not partially

home quarantine works in Singapore, Korea, and Taiwan because of electronic monitoring (via combo of wrist monitors and 24/7 access to all your mobile phone data)

There's an argument to be made that with a fatality rate 1/20th of the Alpha variant, perhaps the Delta variant, whilst more infectious, is little more than the flu anyway. Possibly even less.

But we do not need to make it endemic.
There are better ways, IMO.

We can push the cost of the virus onto the only source of it coming into the country, international travellers.
Everyone can get on with their lives.
If you want to travel internationally, to get into the country you have to go to a dedicated quarantine facility and you don't get to leave until you're cleared to leave. 4 weeks minimum.
We are spending billions keeping 3 people in asylum seeker detention.
