Traded Adam Cerra traded to Carlton for pick #6 and F3

If he leaves (as widely reported), what will Freo get in return?

  • Two good 1st round picks

  • Top 10 pick and change

  • A 1st & a 2nd

  • Later 1st rounder

  • Two 2nd rounders

  • Early 2nd rounder

  • Other 2nd round pick

  • Less than a 2nd rounder

I reckon that used to be the case more often. Not so much these days. I genuinely believe he doesn't know what to do.
Think he'll stay for 2yrs as suggested.
Logical in a way.
Gives him abit more time to where Freo are heading.
Its almost a perfect storm for both clubs in regards to Cerra & Bolton.

But what if he chooses you guys? Whats reasonable? Pick 10 odd to me isn't
I’m not sure we value him as you guys and Carlton do. If he wanted to come across it may be that we offer less than other clubs. We did this with our Crouch offer last year. He chose to accept the greater cash offer at the Saints instead.

I see more value in keeping our two first rounders rather than trading them for Cerra. Need at least one pick in the first round for us this year after not having a pick until 42 last year.

Bolton is worth more than Cerra in a trade. I don't think I'm being biased in saying that?

you probably are.

I do rate Shai Bolton highly due to his excellent form in the last 2 years.

But I sadly see him end up like Des Headland if Bolton joins freo. Bolton wont get the same quality midfield support like he would get at the current tigers midfield.

I do rate Cerra Highly. Is he worth 2 1st rounders? Depends how you see it. I would be happy to have picks 14 and 18 for him, If he was under contract.

Again, freo wanted a couple of 1st rounders for Brad Hill and we didnt get that, Freo still got a good trade in the end.

Freo fans are so afraid of their trading history incompetency they're convincing themselves Bolton would be a dud if they got him. He's a ******* gun, any side would be lucky to have him.
Fool me once, shame on me, fool me 20 times, then **** trading in players...

The current Tigers midfield is rubbish. Bolton isn't getting any leg up playing with them

Fair point, but Bolton from the footy I watch front runs (nothing wrong with that playing in a dominate team)
I see him at his best out the front of stoppages and running ahead of the initial contest.
I think he will be an example of someone who will be less effective in a lesser team.

Lots of players look much better in wins than losses. He is playing for a bottom 8 team at the moment and looking really good. He isn't getting a leg up from playing in a top 2 team

He will win our B&F in our worst year since he's been playing. He's also doing often as the number 1 or 2 mid.

This statement makes no sense based on facts.

I wont deny the Dockers trading incompetency from 1994-2006. Only one really bad trade freo has done in the last 10 years is the Jesse Hogan trade.

Cant even say the Harley Bennell trade was a disaster as we at least got darcy tucker in the end.

One way to get our heads around Cerra's value would be to pick another AFL player who is similar in traits and game style to Cerra.

I have only seen him play four times so I still can't think of a match, Freo fans might have more of an idea.

Dylan Sheil maybe.

Ignoring the fact that Cerra's biggest strength is Shiel's biggest weakness.

I'm not disagreeing but I find that hard to believe. Surely if he "wants to stay" he just signs a 2 year deal and we can put this circus to bed?

The offer is still going to be there at the end of the year, he might just be waiting to see if he can add some extra value to that contract.

Could also be in discussions with clubs who aren't quite meeting the mark at the moment.

You reckon he wants to add more to a 750k contract? Surely he knows that's the limit. It's not like he's shooting the lights out atm.
