Just so you know, if Kangayroo is knitting, the stripes are unlikely to be straight.I'll have one of these in royal blue and white please. Your call as to the orientation of the stripes.
Gladys is definitely to blame for being the idiot that allowed this to spread, but let’s look at the facts. Gladys is not the Premier of Victoria, Dan is. Last I looked Dan enforces our COVID protocols, not Gladys. I also don’t recall Gladys giving permission to the removalists and families from COVID hotspots to enter our State, that’s a call made by our State Government. Why don't you pin it on Gladys? She is the one who failed to lockdown and we are paying the price. She is out of touch with every over jurisdiction, Coalition or Labor controlled. Have a look at what Gutwein in Tasmania and now Marshall again in SA. They go hard and lockdown straightaway. Open your eyes.
This is all true, but doesn't change the point. Despite working in a lab, I don't know enough to look at this research and assess it against other research and established standards. I don't know of many, or any, posting on this board that can. That’s not true at all. Bret and Heather have done really thorough research on covid and have been studying in real time. To dismiss their findings is short sighted. Their work on the topic is great because they’re not married to an idea of ‘this is how is works’. They’re willing to make mistakes and when they do they go back and find where they went wrong. They’re 100% legit. Bret was even robbed of a Nobel prise on his work on longer telomeres of mice bread in captivity, but that’s a whole other story.

So if Dan does his job properly and enforced a hard lockdown at the very start of this fiasco, then we don’t have removalists and families from COVID hotspots roaming around our State.
So blame Gladys as much as you want, the bloke that had the opportunity to prevent this dropped the ball.
Telling the public they had a permit and didn’t follow the rules is of little comfort to the business’ that are now being sent to the rack. How about Dan does his job in the first place and prevent the disaster instead of proclaiming to be the saviour, when he is just cleaning up the results of his inaction and stupidity.
The average person knew this would be the result as soon as things got out of control in NSW, so why take so long to enforce a hard lockdown? Or is the COVID virus to blame because it didn’t realise that these individuals let into our State, as per the rules put in place by our State Governmemnt, had a permit?
Maybe Dan can write the virus a letter next time and ask it to only infect people that don’t have a permit?

Are you kidding me? Again you keep going on about permits and essential workers.I think the situation was explained to you earlier in this thread about why the removalists were allowed into Victoria. Moving furniture came under the essential services work agreed to by the National Cabinet. Neither Gladys nor Dan had to give permission for the removalists to enter Victoria, because there was already an arrangement in place for them to complete the work. That the removalists elected to not follow the rules when they got here hardly helped either,
But here is an extract from an article in the Age a couple of days ago. A link to the article is below
"Australian Furniture Removers Association executive director Simone Hill said members had worked vigilantly to implement government rules to minimise contact when travelling interstate.
“Up until this week we have been proud to say that the Australian removals industry has conducted well over 100,000 moves since the start of the pandemic without a single COVID-19 contact event,” Ms Hill said."
No doubt many of those moves crossed State borders and many more will. To have stopped that one would have been an amazing act by anyone, given other moves would have been happening right throughout Australia. Also, the South Australians let the same removalists cross into their State, so that would appear to put them in the same "stupidity" class that you allege against Daniel Andrews.
Take your politically biased glasses off and look at this situation for what it is.

How much would you pay, and what do you consider 'credible'?Lockdown has humbled us all. These days I'd pay good coin to see some credible crochet.

All research, or propositions, look convincing when viewed in isolation to those not familiar with the standards of knowledge in the area.
A flat earthers is very convincing to someone with limited knowledge of, or trust in, basic science.
People pick the research, or scientist, saying what they want to hear. If this science is not widely accepted in the scientific community, then it's a conspiracy, or, the establishment unwilling to contradict established orthodoxy.
What is generally the case is, there are unresolved questions about the research. Competing research with conflicting results, claims or assumptions made not yet established. Most of which even the well read layman doesn't know about.
If they are right, and the research good, and the issues and questions resolved, the scientific viewpoint WILL change.
I'm just sick of people going, the scientific consensus is wrong because of THIS study. We must believe THIS research and dismiss all other science, because I like it's conclusions.
