But we need to watch them play together to determine that they will be a very good back 4? We’ve already watched plenty of 3 of them and we know that Varane is a solid CB.

Individually? Robbo is the best LB on earth. VVD is the best CB on earth. Varane like Konate is unproven in the PL. Matip and Gomez have won European Cups and Premier Leagues though, both class. AWB is such a limited footballer. TAA easy.

I'd have him behind all our CB's to be honest. I would not trade you any of Konate, Gomez or Matip for Maguire. VVD obvs on a completely different level.

Maguire was very good last season and the defense collapsed when he was injured for a long period. Everyone has their opinions about certain players. I think the top 4 in England will all have solid back 4’s, that will be hard to unlock if they are all fit and available. Should be a great league race this season.

Maguire is overrated and underrated.

He's not the worst, pretty solid and does player a leaders role in defence
He's not the best either but he does have good PR though. Varane has the runs on the board but not been great the past few years. Wan Bissaka is good but limited. Shaw was the best LB in the league last season and might be this season.

Need more than 4 defenders though, that back 4 won't play together the 60 odd games United are in this season, and they're pretty weak in reserve.

AWB defensively is one of the best RBs in the world imo and again before people jump down my throat I said defensively.

Had every great winger in his pocket, he'll get better.

First of all I’m not claiming Leeds to have one of the best defences but this stat is old news and only relevant to first half of the year when in a few games we conceded quite a few when we had a few key cbs injured. We only conceded 19 goals second half of the year

Last 11 games we conceded just 8 goals and that included games against 5 of the ‘big 6’. The return of Llorente and improvement in Struijk made a big difference. I’d say our defence is now underrated

This is such a junk take on TAA. You dont win league titles and European cups with a liability in your defence. He's not Maldini but he's not a muppet defensively. I wouldnt swap him for any other RB in world football given his age, and his abilities both ways and on the ball.

Fair enough, I was probably thinking more so about when we played you twice and Dawson and Soucek did very well at set pieces against you.

Attacking wise he's great and Klopp being the genius he is has used him to the best in his system.

Besides VVD is practically your defence that's why he's able to advance forward most of the time but defensively he's not a great tackler and is always forward when the counter hits.
