On Falcao.

Manchester United effectively paid £4m for every Radamel Falcao goal, analysis of the Colombian's spell at Old Trafford shows.
It was widely reported that Manchester United paid Monaco £6m for the privilege of bringing the striker in on loan. They then had to pay his wages. There is some discrepancy over just how much United were paying, with claims than Monaco could have been topping up Falcao's bank balance each month to ensure he didn't lose out by going on loan. £265,000-a-week is the most widely reported figure United were paying - and with Falcao staying at the club for 37 weeks, the total outlay on wages would have been £9.8m.
That means the total outlay on bringing Falcao to Old Trafford was £15.8m.

The only players from your list that were flops is Sanchez, Falcao and Veron that's it.

How were Kleberson, Di Maria, Depay, Schneiderlin, Bebe not flops? Maybe chuck in Owen Hargreaves and Djembe Djembe too.

I'm not saying United have the exclusive on EPL flops but they have certainly had some doozies over the years.

Hargreaves was in our Champs Lge winning team, and when fit played well. I guess could call him a flop due to injury.

Veron had good games also. Was he as good as he was in Italy, no, but was not a complete spud.

Maybe we could add Massimo Tiabi, although was MoM at Anfield from memory.

Hargreaves? Shut up

Veron was a lot better for United in Europe than he was in the PL. Probably the style suited him more. World Class in Italy, so it was an easy signing to make but it didn’t totally work out

In Alex Ferguson's autobiography released in 2013, he called Hargreaves one of his most disappointing signings.

In 2020, ESPN ranked his transfer to Manchester United as the 27th worst Premier League transfer of all time.
Because he got injured and was never able to play again. Ferries was disappointed because he was such a gun player. ESPN? Lol

Champions league and prem winning Central midfielders are not flops.

When I say only those 3 players is because of the stature of who they are at the time as well as the price tag they had.

Di Maria and Depay came in at the wrong time in the wrong system under LVG sideways keep possession boring football.

Kleberson came in at the wrong time as well with a midfield of scholes, keane, beckham he was never getting a game over them.

Bebe eh 7 mil and only played 2 games while the likes of rooney berba were in front he was never going to get a chance, probably the one that swindled the club.

Fashion choices. What all signings are now judged on.

Definitely. I ran into Ole at Crown after the Utd vs Socceroos game at the 'G back in 99. He was playing roulette on the $5 table with us normal plebs in clothes that a painter would wear to work haha. Him & Stam were hanging around together. There were bogans playing at the same table who had no idea who they were lol

Or they knew who they were but were too afraid to make eye contact with Jaap Stam.

So we'll just let it pass incorrect info that Varane had a bad Euros? He was one of France's most consistent players in a whole team that underperformed, he wasn't the problem :laughv1:
