I compiled this list to do a comparison with a mate v the Crows after a discussion we had about who had the better list moving forwards.

I am sure this will get a bit of discussion going ranking certain young players.

I did it primarily on performance so far, especially at AFL level (sorry Joel).

What would you change.

1. Butters
2. GeorgiadEs
3. Drew
4. Rozee
5. Duursma
6. Marshall
7. Bergman
8. Farrell
9. Jones
10. Frederick
11. Hayes
12. Woodcock
13. McEntee
14. Williams
15. Garner
16. Schofield
17. Mead
18. Lord
19. Pasini
20. Burgoyne

Just one letter probably.

But honestly, who has better youth out of us and the Crows? Its not even a question. Every club in the league has better youth than them.

Here's my comparison list. I tried to be as impartial as possible (and probably failed) and i'll be the first to admit that my knowledge of the bottom end of the Crows list is based on very little watching. I feel like we have a better top end and they have more depth of youngsters (who MAY develop).

I'd definitely take ours.

Port U23 v Crows U23

Butters > Schoenberg

Georgiadis = Thilthorpe

Drew = Butts

Rozee = Scholl

Duursma > Fogharty

Marshall > Murphy

Bergman = Murray

Farrell = Rowe

Jones > McHenry

Frederick < Berry

Hayes < Hamill

Woodcock < Pedlar

McEntee < McPherson

Williams < Jones

Garner > Hately

Schofield = Worrell

Mead = McAsey

Lord > Gollant

Pasini = O’Connor

Burgoyne < Cook, Borlase, Newchurch Parnell

No SPP? Same draft as Marshall & Drew

There is trying to be impartial and then there is going so far the opposite way that even the most dow hard crows fans would disagree with you.

I'd post it over there but it wouldn't be worth the shitfight lol.

I am sure they would find plenty where they think I am being unfair on them.

The Thilthorpe v Georgiadas argument would be interesting.

Quite a similar list but I think Drew has been excellent this year playing full time mid with less than 30 games and is currently in 2nd.

Georgiades could easily be first with a better forward structure holding him back a bit but the talents certainly there.

That top 10 has some serious talent and we should be getting as many games as we can into them (especially Hayes before we loose him).

I don’t know, I don’t care, at one point in time Carlton looked blessed with Under 23 talent however achieved eff all! Gold Coast have the pick of the litter, still tripe! St.Kilda had the best 2 under 23 year old key forwards since Tredrea and Lockwood, never won a Premiership...

Interesting topic, I've ranked ours and the Crowies based on how I project the players to perform in coming years. The question is though, how many of these players will become genuine A graders? In my opinion, you need at least 6 to challenge for a Premiership (4 Midfielders, 1 Forward, 1 Back). We definitely need to get a defender (draft/trade) into this age bracket who could become an A grader.
