Just watching the highlights and OMG I forgot about that Freo jumper. WTF were they thinking?
Yeah someone would know better than me. I thought that was why they switched to the chevrons in the first place, some legal issue with the Dockers brand. Assume it's a similar situation to Port's prison bars: they get the green light for the odd one off appearance but not sure if they'd be clear to have it as part of the regular kit and wear it 8-10 times a year.
Even if they repurposed the green and purple with chevrons, I reckon it'd immediately be the coolest clash in the league.
Keep it as the home strip, use the purple awayThe change from the anchor, purple, green, red and white jumper to the purple chevrons was an under-handed act by a pair of marketing arsewipes (aka the two Steve's) who became our CEO and President. Nothing to do with any legal issues, just a marketing ploy. I'm sure that if the club wanted to (and listened to the fans) then they could play with the original strip every week.
I dont think there was any issue with the anchor on the jersey but there was an issue with using the word "dockers" on clothing as Levis owned the trademark for dockers on clothing. All our original merchandise never used the word "dockers".Yeah someone would know better than me. Its a good opportunity to take up skiing as I did a couple of years ago. Some Melbourne supporter mates know al, the best runs and accommodation.Start planning those September holidays, it's ok they're great
It's the best strip they have had...It's so retro though it's kinda cool now.
I dig it, reckon they should use it more often.
