"The culture will change. In the past the President and others have been too led by players and player feelings. That is not how Luke Sayers runs things. He is the boss. He makes the rules. You play by them or you leave. There is a host of ex-PwC Partners that can attest to this. The only thing that matters performance."

Carlton aren't winning a flag anytime in the next decade if this is what they think is needed.

Exactly right.
If Sayers thinks he's the one to set rules in the footy department and for players then it's a complete disaster.

indeed

the best presidents in the league - if we use premierships being won as a proxy for 'best' - set great frameworks and then sit back and watch. Kennett meddled a bit, but it was Newbold who was prez for the threepeat, no-one at Geelong would even know who Colin Carter was if he popped up in there porridge, likewise Peter's brother at the Eagles. Peggy O'Neal is very hands off with all but the CEO and Balme, and has anyone ever heard Andrew Pridham talk about anything besides the cost of living in Sydney?

Carlton are always seeking a messiah, on and off field. Pratt, Judd, Malthouse, Kernahan and Judd (off-field) again, and it looks like Sayers views himself as being the messiah. What a mess, and what an irrelevant club they've become.

“Bluemour” season startling early this year... you love to see it!

Can’t wait to find out which elite midfielder is going to Carlton for Paddy Dow and a second rounder!

FWIW I heard Carlton are having a “serious crack” at Bont AND he is super keen on Carlton, but you won’t hear about it unless a deal is done. Would be a huge get. Lots of “moving parts”, “water under the bridge”, contracts, negotitiations etc. to come but rest assured I’ll keep everyone up to date with any whispers!

And when Bont doesn’t workout they’ll use the pick and money reserved for him on a spud back-flanker.

Not sure why your still angry Toumpy...
The Oliver rumour turned out to be true :thumbsupv1:
You locked in a flakey half back flanker in free agency on 900,000 a year and had a very public battle with King Dodoro over Saad’s trade worth, before handing over a first round pick.

You are completely and utterly delusional if you think Carlton had a crack at Oliver.

If Williams is worth 900,000 and Saad costs a first round pick, how much you think Oliver would cost in picks and how much would you pay him?

lol
