Try googling: The game they play in heaven.

Jesus' father and all his family played Rugby Union ("the game they play in heaven") and it was a matter of some disappointment when the only son changed to the rival code. Often during his playing career, Jesus would speak fondly of his youth and of being "in Union with my father"

Interesting. Didn’t know Jesus was a mug.

Rugby Union = The game they play in heaven.
League = The game the play in goal.

Soccer, a gentleman's game played by thugs.
Union, a thugs game played by gentlemen.
League, a thugs game played by thugs.
Aussie footy, a game for all!

Of course it's not quite as impressive when you realise that between mid 2013 and the start of 2020 he only missed 2 matches. So we were actually 50/50 in that period. Since 2020 we've been pretty much pants with or without him.
So do we say that he has played in nearly every loss in that period:)

As much as Horne would be fantastic, we are winning this.

Feels that way although we are a touch undermanned still. On the other hand they've been absolutely awful recently.

On the flipside have to imagine they'd set themselves for this and go hard. There will be some pride on the line as premiers facing the bottom team, particularly a team that up until 3-4 years ago before this run had their number for 2 decades and took pride in treating them as a soft opponent. If Richmond are going to fire another shot this year this week is the time to do it.

Nick Larkey to set his personal best for the 2nd time in 3 weeks.

I may be reading a bit between the lines, but he mentions Comben and Edwards in the same sentence then goes on to say "Edwards still has a way to go" without further mentioning Charlie. CHOM DEBUT INCOMING!
I think Noble saying that Comben won’t be debuting this week might be a subtle hint that he won’t be playing against Richmond. Just a gut feel.

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick has flagged a possible debut for Maurice Rioli Jr and his “chaos mentality” as the Tigers search for a spark to keep their finals hopes alive.

As the 11th-placed Tigers face a must-win clash against North Melbourne at the MCG if they are to remain in touch with the top eight, Hardwick named the exciting small forward among a group of players in the selection mix for Round 21 and rated Rioli Jnr a “realistic chance” to play his first AFL game.

The son of Tigers great Maurice Rioli Sr, the 19-year-old was taken by Richmond with pick No.51 in the 2020 national draft.

Hardwick named Rioli Jr among a group of young players including Riley Collier-Dawkins, Will Martyn, Thomson Dow and Hugo Ralphsmith who would come into the selection frame.

He said Rioli would “certainly be in the squad this week”.

“He just brings a chaos mentality up forward,” Hardwick said.

“His chase pressure and all that is very much like Daniel (Rioli) when he first started, it’s hard to believe he is probably quicker than Daniel, to be fair.

“He has got some areas of his game that he needs to improve but he has got some incredible strengths that he brings as well. But if he does play that’s what we’ll be looking forward to.

“He’s a chance. We’ll go through training today and see how he trains and see how he feels and make a decision this afternoon.”

The Tigers could be bolstered by the return of three-time premiership player Nick Vlastuin (knee/quad cork) while Kamdyn McIntosh (hamstring) is also an outside chance.

But Hardwick ruled out a return for Nathan Broad (ankle).

Nick Vlastuin will train today so we are positive that he’ll play,” Hardwick said.

Nathan Broad had a setback, unfortunately, so he won’t be available this week.

“And Kamdyn McIntosh will train. Whether he is available to play we are not sure either at this stage, but it gives us a chance for those two senior boys to put their hand up to play.

“Whether we make one change or four changes remains to be seen.”

Still paying 2.60 to win this. Jump on!
