I’m guessing his salary will have dropped significantly with injury problems and questions over his actual impact on games
Value has massively dropped, seems as if Adelaide will get rid of him for a late 1st/early 2nd just to dump him. that's worth for GC, they don't need picks and they have an end of 1st round priority pick this draft which they have been encouraged to trade by the afl.

i think people forget how good mcrouch is , we (saints) paid over the odds for bcrouch, and hes taken a bit of time to settle in , but at the same time recently has delivered exactly what was on the packet, and his brother is better

Yeah this is my point. Ziebell's defensive instincts have improved but I think they're still poor, he ranks below average for pressure acts, average for tackles, defensive loss % and rates and whilst he's above average for spoils he doesn't exactly do much to improve their backline. his kicking efficiency is like 86% but that's pretty easy when you chip sideways and backwards the whole time. Hall averages better numbers across the board, minus spoils. IMO you can only carry one of these players in a back 6, it's the reason NM get beaten so convincingly every week, you simply can't have two guys who attack and zone off and expect to be a good team. Hall will be the guy they choose, so either Ziebell becomes a small lockdown defender or he is moved. Not to mention Hall is much better on rebounds from the exit 50 and score launches.

Will be interesting to see what Norf do though, he is their captain so has to get given games .... but read this.

"North Melbourne’s Jack Ziebell is the biggest beneficiary of the kick-in boost; they single-handedly bring his disposal average from the teens to the mid-twenties.

The problem for the Kangaroos though is that they continue to be punished from Ziebell’s kick-ins.

The players who concede the most points from their kick-ins.

Very few players or teams actually have a positive scoring differential from kick-ins; it’s easier to score from a kick-in turnover than a kick-in.

But Ziebell’s differential is twice as bad as anyone else in the AFL. From chains launched from Ziebell kick-ins, North Melbourne has conceded almost 21 goals more than it has scored." - FOX SPORTS

Probably unfair on Ziebell, that stat a reflection more on Norths ability to retain possession than JZs kicking ability. Ziebell seems to bomb it long to the wing or goes short to the pocket, from what I have seen he seems quite safe with his kickins.

It's not the picks, it's the salary. He was after $700-800k apparently. That's not worth it when there are a lot of young players that will need pay rises over the next few years. He's just not that good imo, not worth paying overs for.

Contract renegotiation could be a possibility if he wants a move

Good player and very consistent, an absolute jet from a fantasy football perspective, however doesn’t impact the game enough to be considered on the same level as Bont, Clarry etc and probably not worth 800k+ especially considering the Suns have to plan for King, Rowell, Anderson etc to want big salaries in the coming years.

If the Crows are shopping him around then he will get no where near that might get lucky and get offered $2.5m over 4 years something like that

Very few clubs have salary cap space.
hes a good player.
But totally not worth selling the farm for.

Just read the Sam Taylor story. Checked his stats.
Hidden Gem next year?

Hes become the imaginary flavour of the month on the north board.
plenty of walk him to the pre season draft nuffies.
he must be good.
he's a ****ing star, future multiple AA full back for sure. Worth a top 10 pick plus extra. I don't think I'd have him in SC next year because I don't think he's like a May who can average high 90's. Think he'll just be a solid 85-90 career type like most gun full backs.

Hes a great young player.
Gun FB's dont really get SC relevant until they reach there peak.
I think hes probably a start of season trap this early in his career.

Looks like he will be somewhere else next year.

Not sure if reported but rumour is we have only offered a 2 year deal , if true surely he walks . after a year off for groin surgery and then it flares up again after coming back is a worry .
I don’t want him to go but looks like we are very aggressive with this rebuild , packaging picks to get up the order.

Bont, Steele, Touk, and Oliver will be my starting mids.
Macrae will be first trade in.
I took Taranto this year as an m5. He worked OK i suppose.
I just think the selection hamstrung my final team as i was always giving away points to real m8's.
No cheap mids.

Macrae's price never drops much though, you'll be needing $600k+ to get him.

Agree about not starting a m8. It's got to be either SP's or cash cows.

Cooling on starting Walsh or Oliver as they are more likely to have a stinker and drop in price.

For me its either Bont or Macrae not both.
If Im taking 4 x 600k mids i want them all to be captain options.
2 playing in the same game doesnt help.
Especially when i dont see the rucks as perma captain options next year.
