It was a thing of emotional beauty when writing that.......

Unless you are a sociopath how could you not cry?

Not my experience with the identical twins I know but it was a cute story.

As if they’d be less than a third round pick. That’s nonsense no matter how low you rate them. I’d say possibly Seb Ross as he’s playing an easier role to cover but also think with all we lose something.
It would be a buyer's market situation and if we wanted to be rid of them and their contracts, we would be forced to take unders.

I'd say Ross is the hardest to cover btw.

I'm fine with Geary getting another year, as long as he isn't a starting player in the best 22. He'd be on a pretty low wage and he is an asset with the soft cap reduction. A genuine and deliberate situation where he can provide leadership and direction. We don't have 45 guns running around demanding list spots.

We lack senior leaders and as long as Geary wants to sign one year deals on minimum chips, we should sign him. He's not taking anyone's spot
Nah - should be gone.

No players over 25 allowed and all players not in the starting 22 team should be under 20.

Why are we the only team in the league thinks that hàving a experienced older players on the list is a good thing.

Saints would be better off letting Ross and Dunstan go. Both know how to find the ball but with how poor they both are by foot it's almost better off if they didn't get as much at times.

Keep Billings though (if he's not demanding overs). players with the output of 20+ and a goal a game don't grow on trees.
Could be what Ratten thinks as well , there disposal would send him crazy during a game.

Both would be easily worth a 3rd rounder regardless of any kind of market.

Next season 42 spots and he would take a spot on a kid , he has lost his speed he is finished.
And for god sake , Steele is the Captain and the guy needs room - time for the new leaders to step up.
We have another croc like Hannerbery who is enough.

problem is, the rare times he's fit, he does take someone's spot

He broke a bone. Do you think he's so old he had osteoporosis or something?
No reason he can't play out a season if he's not belted hard enough to break a bone.

Hanners and Gears are our senior leaders. 38 out of 72 games between them in the last 3 years. Offer about as much as Frawley and McKernan do.

We have so many old depth/cooked players that he is competing against them more than anyone else for a list spot. We've got a bunch of other old blokes who can be moved on. We'll have enough list spots available to take the amount of draftees as we want.

There's no indication that Steele does need room. His performances have been great all year and there's been nothing to suggest Geary is encroaching on his ability to develop as a leader.

Good decision to keep Geary for mine provided he's backup only. We need guys like him around the club to show the way and lead off the field.

If he was taking a kid's spot on the list I would be against it but we are not going to have enough picks to fill every list spot if we cut everyone that's been talked about. You gotta keep some and Geary is better than keeping say a Lonie IMO.
