Unpopular opinion, but only thing I can think of is Western Jets bias. Eddie seems a bit more relaxed then our other draftees who were all in leadership roles at private schools (bar Phoenix), which may have added to the unfair bias.

Our benefit in the end.
He actually went to a private school. It was just that its in Taylor's Puddle Lakes. May have had some leadership role too. i checked it out a bit when he was drafted.

I think its definitely an anti Western suburbs bias at play tho. Even what Simmo said this year about just drafting private school kids points at the biases that recruiters and the AFL generally has. Hardly surprising with a toffee campaigner like Gil ru(i)nning the game.

Yeah my mistake. Agree re the Western Jets/Suburb bias.

100%

I posted as much after the draft.
I remember how rapt you were when we drafted him. (You were big on him beforehand too.) It actually made me think we were onto something when we got him just how excited you were.

Every now and then posters on here mention some kid or other and say "this kid really has it" in a particular way that grabs my attention and usually when they do they are correct.

Was listening to a podcast a couple of weeks ago with Cam Z. They were talking about the personalities at the club and CZ nominated Ford as the weird/left of center one. Prodded with why and he paused and ummed and just said: He wears a trench coat. haha

As already stated: He compliments our group so well. We have the studious, pull out a notebook and study ones in Phillips/Powell et al. Then there's Ford sitting at the back in his trench coat shooting his 2 guns dreaming of taking the 4th quarter in a granny by the scruff.
Someone needs to do some image magic with this I reckon.

Smart footballer.

Honestly have not seen such a distribution of young talent in key aspects (in a long time) at North.

Really pleasing to see.

This guy is no Bantum, more a Popular rooster with his Laser footskills; able to Probe any opposition zone and control the Tempo for four quarters,
Aspire to kick a bag and confirm what a Maverick player he is in our team.
Let's all hope he is Activa in the forward line making it his own Territory, providing good Fusion with Spicer and and co. and to be a Courier in the forward 50 Escort-ing the ball all the way through the goal posts, and able to Flex his Elite skills and show that he has the talent that others, such as the various B-Max before him weren't able to fully show.

I apologise. It's a lockdown.

Oh, I'm in the same space. Play on.

Just thinking ahead.. our midfield and forward line is gonna end up being stacked. Could this guy be turned into a damaging half back?
