That’s what we all think will/ should happen.
Sam McClure is saying we are delisting him

Journo's not understanding how free agency works is soooo 2020.

I'm still getting over hearing how StK might trade their 1st pick for Brad Crouch if he decides to leave Adelaide.

Stop jumping at shadows kids... Lethers & Libba have it covered.

We've tried Sincs as a mid. He's way more effective in the role he is playing now. Why would we change it back?

I'm not saying we should definitely move him. I think it's worth looking at, that's all.

I think he's a much better player now, and i don't believe that just due to a positional change.

I understand the "if it aint broke" argument though

Just playing devils advocate.

if we told him he isn’t getting a new deal and that we delist him. He doesn’t need to sign with a club during free agency. Thus meaning he can be picked up as a delisted player ala McKernan last year for us.

Spot on, that's what will happen. Similar to when we signed Membrey. In that case he told Sydney he wouldn't re-sign so they may as well delist him sooner than later. A club who wants Dunstan should tell him the same thing and then just wait, otherwise they're just costing themselves potential dilution of their own free agent compo. It's not like there's big competition for his services.

Absolutely it is. Especially as Sincas is our best decision maker and best kick.

Having him regularly delivering the ball inside F50 would be ideal. We've got plenty of options at half back... especially if Coff rediscovers his form (& grows into a top liner) and Hunts continues to split time between the guts and HB.

I don’t think crouch is that bad. Talia is a concern. But is a huge upgrade if fit.

if they both passed a medical and cost nothing but cap. Surely that’s okay?
How could Crouch be out all year with a groin ? Talia had a bone spur in his foot , not a good thing to have for either

Over his career Crouch has been rather solid and not missed a great deal of football.
He is also a BnF winner and All Australian.

yeah his missed this year. But we don’t know how bad that groin is or if it was a case of I’m leaving and I’ll just take the year off and get myself cherry ripe for my new club.

Talia is an injury concern. But is a bonafide gun defender and we are lacking a genuine key back to go with Howard.

if both passed medicals. Why say no?

your talking substantial improvements on Carlisle/Frawley and Dunstan.

So de-list Dunstan and Ross to get Parker and Chol (effectively a free agent compo swap)

Trade Billings for end of Round 1 compo (19)

Battle for around Pick 35.

Trade 9, 19 and next years 2nd for Ben King.

35, 46 and 64 for NGA picks in the draft.

Dont need Two more broken down crocs

Matt Crouch is 26 and is younger than Billings , he is already a All Australian and if not for this year has not missed to many games.
Over his career he has a average of 28 possessions a game which is incredible.
If he wants to join his brother no problems , makes up for losing Dunstan and is a upgrade.
Talia is another matter at nearly 30 I wouldn't be looking at him and hopefully we have learnt from Frawley.

If it was a considered decision to recruit Frawley, I don't see that they absolutely need to abandon that strategy just because it didn't work out once. We need backup for Doogs, and that's not going to come from the draft and be ready this year.
Don't forget the Hawks only expected Burgoyne to play for a year or 2.
Even if only 1 in 5 works out really well, doesn't mean you shouldn't keep having a crack.
Tried Frawley, didn't work out, let him retire, next.
I don't think list spots are at such a premium that you can't take the odd punt, as long as you don't keep flogging the same dead horse.

We already saw from this year having Geary , McKernan , Roberton , Hannerbery , Frawley on the list made us basically 5 experienced players short - if we are keeping Geary , Hannerbery and Frawley who knows he might be staying , we will all ready have 3 players that will find it hard to get on the park.

OK, i'll bite, I hate the way Crouch plays, I believe a large number of his possessions are utterly useless and have little impact. He makes our slow'ish midfield infinitely slower, cannot play anywhere but the middle and takes away opportunities for Clark, Gresh, Bytel and Byrnes to run through there. Don't want, even on a free.

Come on, I doubt we keep Frawley AND pick up Talia. You think we'd do that?
McKernan gone, Roberton gone.
And we didn't fill our list spots, and were able to bring players in during the mid season draft. It's not like having those players hindered us. Not having a few of them did.

Agreed. I'm a maybe/leaning yes to Parker. Strong no to Crouch.
