I'm the epitome of calm:)
Be nice if you didn't feel the need to point it out 24/7.
As for Bigfooty being my life, yeah na, I come here, when I'm not away for six weeks at a time without internet for info and discussion but mostly to take the piss, unlike your good self who comes to whinge.

You need to go watch 8 mile or something and get a bit of passion and direction in your life

That's actually a bit sad. Back in the day I used to like Connolly. I thought he was generally fair minded towards us and seemed to be one of the very few Vic journos who made the effort to look at things from a non-Victorian perspective.

However he lost a massive amount of credibility when he essentially became an apologist for James Hird during the drugs scandal. Since he got the arse from Fairfax he's attempted to set up his own footy website/podcast which has allowed him to go completely off the reservation, with a spectacular example being what we've seen today.

I think the state would literally explode more if we got away with all the throws and flicks they pass of as handballs.

I've changed my position on this.

We should do the same, and either (a) get away with it like the other teams, or (b) if the AFL doesn't like it, they'll make a ruling on it and stop it in its tracks. Shouldn't be too hard to train into the players try it on occasionally.

I'd just like our players to be able to hit targets when they handball instead of handballing wide, to their feet, etc.

It really stood out to me over the weekend how good Port and Melbourne are at actually handballing in tight, not the little throws that Bulldogs do but actual handballs.

Love this bit from Malthouse.

“I was staggered, and I still am, at the Carlton board’s preoccupation with past players and past premierships. It drags its VFL success around like a ball and chain,” the triple-premiership winning coach wrote in the Herald Sun.

“I was reminded in one (regular) board meeting that the Blues had won 16 premiership cups. I quickly informed them that they had in fact won just a single AFL premiership (1995) which put the club in the low range for number of flags won since the AFL announced itself in 1990.

Brisbane Lions triple premiership player Craig McRae set to the named the new Pies coach.
Currently an assistant at the Hawks

Paves the way for the alleged coup of Robert Harvey that's been mooted the Eagles might be doing.

I felt the same until Cripps got away with one against GWS which led to a goal and the commentators would not shut up about it and endlessly replayed it, while a similar chuck from the Giants went unremarked upon. It made watching the game that much more infuriating.

From reports, even if McRae doesn't get the job (and he likely will) it would go to Kingsley. So Harvey is not getting it.

Hopefully he is as interested in coming across as we are in getting him across. From what I can see, he has never worked with Simpson? If so, that would be a good thing (fresh ideas hopefully, plus clearly not 'one of the boys').

If we manage to bring Harvey AND Schofield across to replace the departing Hickmott whilst retaining Graham that would be a significant improvement to our coaching group especially if we move Webster on

That shouldn’t be seen as a criticism of Hickmott because I think he’s been a good coach but after 8 years at the club a new voice wouldn’t be a bad thing

Will Schofield had glowing praise for Hickmott last week on Backchat, rated him as highly as Sam Mitchell

Was reading that if McRae gets the job he wants to bring Leppitsch with him, would be a big loss for Richmond as he's been credited with being one of the key planks behind the scenes for Hardwick's success.
