Sometimes losing your best player even helps to free up the rest of the team, but my biggest concern is Geelong seem to play Optus well after smashing Freo there a few weeks ago and Giants may be fatigued after that clash against Sydney where they had to hold on for their lives in the last quarter.

That’s a separate issue. It’s a ridiculously regulated trade worldwide. This not only doesn’t eliminate supply and demand, but aggravate it.

My point was simple: more people wanting to fly to Perth leading prices to go up is not news. It should be expected.

The only way to avoid this is increasing the supply. If that cannot be done (e.g., in a very regulated market), prices will rise. It’s natural.

Some perspective to consider.
My family were due to fly Adelaide to Perth the Wednesday just gone for a wedding. 4 return tix on Australia’s premium carrier Qantas purchased in late July $1550.
We cancelled the tix a couple of weeks ago when it was clear the 14 day quarantine into WA would not be relaxed. Ms V on Wednesday just gone thought she’d buy a single ticket to attend wedding on her own-one way $850-900.
Rises such as this pisses most people off as the carriers have been very loud about receiving large subsidies to manage COVID whilst laying enormous amounts of staff off.
