There are a lot of picks here that don’t make sense, especially in regards to perceived team needs, not to mention way different rankings.

Not to mention Richmond absolutely clean up.

Way different rankings aren't a bad thing, comparing and trying to understand why people rate prospects differently is a great tool.

I disagree that Richmond clean up

**This is not a criticism**

You have Arlo Draper being drafted by both Fremantle and Bulldogs.

Josh Faye is tied to GWS, who will 100% match the bid. There is no restriction on Northern academies matching their kids in the first round.

Erasmus is a good first pick for Brisbane. Would have preferred Jacob Van Rooyen.

**this is an observation**
Whoa, buck the truck up, how is Josh Goater not drafted by anyone? I would be throwing a shoe at the television if we passed on Goater if he was still available.
JVR probably plays as a defender at AFL level injuries to Gardiner and Adams may suggest we go that way but what happens to players like Payne and Lester

Payne needs games in to him at AFL level to develop.

Lester is depth, a break glass in emergency, type depth.

If we draft some key defender and medium sized defenders, Lester probably stays on the rookie list, then delisted when the young defenders push in to the first team.

Not you again

On behalf of North we reluctantly accept Horne and Goater.
Why Not just take Horne at 1 why muck around by bidding on Darcy and Daicos as I believe is better then both of them.
It would a shot into the arm of Horne that we have the utter respect for him as the number 1 pick not the 3rd pick.

I think he is smart enough to know why we would bid on the other 2 - like the Crows did with JUH.

Knocking 2 teams out of the draft improves the rest of our draft picks.

I would be beyond surprised if Freo called out a key defender first. In fact, I'd be flying over to Cockburn to start a riot. We might take a flanker but only if they had genuine speed.

The club has openly said it is chasing speed and a ruck/forward if that helps. Bizarrely we don't seem to think key forwards are a need.

Or, less bizarrely, we don't want to advertise our draft targets.

If you’re going to have bids matched, you need to learn which picks clubs will lose.

WB will lose pick 17. GC will lose pick 22. Collingwood will lose pick 37.

Just on Brisbane, I’m pretty confident our recruiters rate Jacob Van Rooyen pretty high, along with Matthew Johnson. And a lot of Lions fans like Wanganeen-Milera.

Half back no longer appears to be a high priority of need.

KPF/KPD, fast inside and outside mids appear to be the priority.
