To be honest I just get that vibe, Port if they are even ball park same money as us are prob more attractive given the ladder positions. Feel like him nominating state rather team is just because one side is still playing. Hopefully I'm wrong and it's just ingrained into me to not get hopes up due to usually not getting the player. I was the opposite of most last year, I wanted Fantasia. Still can't believe Port got Allir for so cheap either. Say what you like about them but they've been more aggressive in their trading and recruiting. Had some good wins, had some averages ones too yet they still find themselves top 4 for multiple years running.

Have you seen their draw for finishing top 4? How can they possible continue to finish top 4 in the last few years given they have a horrible record against the top 8 and there will be your answer.

He's not waiting to nominate. He's waiting for the season to finish and get contract talks started because one of the clubs bidding for him are still playing.

If port hadn't made it this far we'd in the middle of hearing about contract talks and who's is better between poort and us.

If Dawson is chasing a flag in the next 3 years, Port are in the box seat

If Dawson is treating this as a Business decision and it's about maximising his earning, then we would likely be in the box seat

If his decision is influenced by his childhood dreams, playing for the team that he and his family supported then that works in our favour

Sam Edmund has no history of breaking stories, he is most likely saying Port not because he has info but because he is applying his own logic.......

Seeing how much I read "x supported y as a kid" or "x's family are rusted-on y supporters"; how many times has a clear gun or gun-to-be player requested a trade to a club only because that was the team they/their family/their family's dog/the butcher, the baker or the candlestick maker supported growing up?

I just don't think you give two shits when it comes to people offering you fu**-off money as a young guy, if the club you never cared for as a kid is offering you larger amounts of said fu**-off money. Just means mo' money for mo' sick CSGO skins and Fortnite v-bucks.

Except on some cases it does matter, lever, danger.

It's obviously not going to be the main and only reason the deal gets made, but it's another little reason that could add up in deciding between similar offers

The AFL media.is the worse media in professional sport

It lacks integrity and is full of jurnos who will make lazy assumptions in the hope they snag some right predictions then claim they have good Intel

It completely is. I’ve stated it previously. Fantasia tried to get to the Crows multiple times and both parties couldn’t make it work. Then when he finally moved back to SA, the Crows had lost interest due to changing circumstances. My source is as good as you’ll get on that.

On topic, no idea about Dawson, but the Jake Kelly news is things that make you go hmm.

Jeez it would matter to me. If I had two clubs to choose from in the same state, and one of them was a club I supported, as well as my whole family supporting them, then I wouldn’t care too much about the prospect of winning a flag in the short term, I’d prefer to help the club I supported growing up in getting back to finals footy, especially if they were offering more $$’s

I think no matter which way you look at it, this will be a massive fail if we can’t attract a player we’ve most likely put a lot of time into behind the scenes, when we’ve got the cap space, and we’ve got vacancies all over the park for him to choose from.

He’s a ‘want’ for Port, but we need him.

If we don’t land him then there will be no amount of polishing the turd that will change the fact it’s still a massive turd for the club.
