Don't disagree with this, but we also can't be so arrogant to think there are no lessons to be learnt.

There's a pattern that provides an opportunity to learn and improve.

Simply saying oh well, next time, is not good enough for me.

Oh absolutely, there is definitely refinement that can be made to the way we approached a player, and how we treated their needs. Even if we get Dawson, we should be taking a fine-tooth comb to how we approached him to see where we could improve.

That said, it's certainly overreacting to say it's embarrassing to be the losing party in trying to attract a player to your club, seeing that's just part and parcel of the industry. The only time it might be argued as such is when you've gone public with your interest.

Yeah exactly, no point getting worked up about it until it is announced.

I do find it funny that any time a story comes out that he has chosen us it is automatically labelled to be fake, but any story with him choosing Port and it must be true.

You always need to make your list better whether you win the flag or finish 15th. If players don't want to come we need to find out why and fix it.
