Williams had a poor first year at Carlton but let's not rewrite history because of it. Was a very good footballer at the Giants, and there is no reason why he can't be at Carlton.

SPS is a 360 degrees player. More suited in traffic and stoppages, not half back. Rarely turns the ball over.

Some people here are bagging his inconsistency. But they also must explain why other high draft picks in Dow, O'Brien, Setterfied, Kennedy(until recently when played in correct position) have been in the same boat. We could also throw in Cunningham.

if I’m being completely honest I think the moment Williams came into the club samo was one who became expendable. The funny thing is that samo is probably just a level below Williams as a half back and is the better midfielder. It’s crazy to think we paid that much money for essentially replacing samo. I said it when we got Williams and I will say it again when we bring in cerra. We are just paying overs for players that we already have. The club seem to be spending money for the sake of it. It’s getting tiring.

Samo to me appears nervous and scared when the ball is in the air and he has to stand under it. Also not nearly the pace of Williams.
His kicking has no penetration. If i remember correctly in one of the last games he didn't make the distance when shooting for goal from about 35-40 out ( i could be wrong).

Samo is a good player but i prefer players that hate losing a contest like stocker, Weitering, Walsh and SOS. They are the types we want, the guys who will do anything to win. Once we get enough of these types watch out.

And I wish him the best if he wants to get back home for family reasons and more opportunity. Who wouldn't want to get out of melb the way things are now.

Wasn't that the issue with Bolton? That he played the kids in there before their time (ie, he threw them (Dow, SPS) in when they weren't ready?). I remember people saying "TFFT, he (Teague) is playing the older guys in the middle".
