VFL media intimidates Tribunal, ‘Toby Tax’ increased

A serious question.... can we not run a concerted campaign through social media to show up this Vic bias? Get other non-Vic supporters involved and really highlight the crap that the media push and the bullshite coming from the MRO

Probably could but getting traction is another thing.

I have a few connections and honestly it’s pretty grubby. Guys like Maguire still very influential on the game and the big Melbourne clubs and West Coast. We are a small minion.

The AFL runs it’s politics through media folk like Whateley and Wilson. Wilson occasionally vents faux outrage at the AFL but it is just to make her feel more authentic and a real journalist as opposed to a Fleet Street style entitled daughter of a former Richmond Board Member.

Whateley is hilarious, he comes out like some pontificating self-righteous know-it-all, when in actual fact he is just a well placed AFL stooge masquerading as an expert.

He has become quite the megalomaniac since securing the SEN gig and loves feeling like the smartest man in the room when in actual fact he is just a highly paid puppet.

Isn’t it quite the coincidence that his Toby Greene rants and prognostications for suspension were exactly in line with the AFL??? who would have thought 🤣😆.

GWS best hope is private equity and to rid itself of the AFL cocoon. The Melbourne Storm model is very good and they are a powerhouse.

I reckon with the money that is around and a sound model we could do that, but until such time we are just a TV rights cash cow that only need to be competitive enough (but not too competitive) for the rest to be satisfied with our existence.

Please testify against Toby and stitch him right up.

If you do, we promise to reward you with…

Just an additional thought, not relating to Toby, but to the inconsistencies in our game.
Grand Final last week, Caleb Daniels, games smallest, swings Max Gawn, games tallest, on to the hardstand, with a head knock, and a forehand skidmark to show for it. It's a macho sport, so everybody slightly embarrassed for Max to be rag-dolled.
But he wasn't bracing for it, it was late, he didn't even get a free kick!
Shoe on other foot?
Gawn swings Daniels, and the outcome would be entirely different.
If you wanna ramp up the outcome/ outcry even more,
TFG swings either Gawn or Daniels!!
There is no consistency.

So, verdict is in on Hipwood.

Clearly intentionally pushed an opposition player into an umpire who sprawled flat on his face. Far worse than Toby's IMHO because there was massive impact.

Zero weeks.

VFL House going to appeal this one?

BRISBANE star Eric Hipwood has avoided suspension for pushing Western Bulldogs opponent Ryan Gardner into the path of umpire Jacob Mollison.

Sent straight to the Tribunal after Gardner and Mollison made heavy contact in Brisbane's win against the Bulldogs, the jury found Hipwood guilty of careless contact with an umpire, but only imposed a $2500 fine.

The AFL pushed for a two-game ban, arguing he'd intentionally pushed Gardner into the path of the umpire.

I'm not a toby tax guy but man this really feels like a "if it was Toby" situation. He pushes the player directly into the umpire and knocks him over! Then gets a wide open mark out of it. Really can't believe it.
