What’s the go with Rory Lobb? He left Sydney to return to WA and after a few years wants out of Freo. I originally didn’t have much interest due to his high wage, but it’s been reported he’s willing to spread his last 2 years across 3 instead, which makes him a very attractive proposition.
Buyer beware.

What a great selection. Four of the next five selections were Josh Carr, Jude Bolton, Mark McVeigh and Lenny Hayes.

Don't go looking at our 2000 draft haul and who we might have got around them then.

- a great player
- 2 years x 500k salary cap saving
- salary space to lock in mckay and walsh
You want to take a chance on getting a great player, who could easily end up being ordinary, instead of a guaranteed good player who could still end up being great?
Then you want to save salary cap space that you don't even know if we need to save it?
And then use that space to sign McKay (already signed) and Walsh, assuming that this isn't already allowed for?

I'm pretty comfortable in saying that I don't think we would risk using 6 on Cerra if the recruiting team thought we were guaranteed to get someone better than him in the draft, and I don't think we would be throwing money at him if it was going to hamper our ability to retain Harry and Walsh.

Without looking it up (but it is out there), pick 6 is statistically the worst out of the top 12 picks (possibly the worst out of the entire first round).

and something coming back our way
Absolutely dreaming if you think we can get Cerra for just 6, with something else coming back to us.
Will be lucky if we can get for just pick 6 by itself. Will more than likely require something else from us, but would be worth it.

Another touted potential assistant, N. Lappin no longer available. Source Geelong Advertiser.

(Lappin's) commitment to Geelong is welcome news at GMHBA Stadium, with football manager Simon Lloyd saying Lappin was one of the best exponents of his craft across the AFL.
“Nigel Lappin will be at the club next year,” Lloyd said. “We have had a commitment from Nigel that he will be at the club moving forward.
“Nige is highly qualified and one of the leading assistants in the game.”

Realise he's been at Princes Park for 5 mins. However, hope Voss is able to procure some great available assistant coaches to complement his skill set.

Keep trying mate. You'll land one for sure.
These are good people you are potting. Basically calling them liars for giving us info from good sources.
We knew the risk when we got on the ride.
You'll never know how close you were to being wrong.
No I'm calling one person a liar. Clarkson never agreed to the job and hadn't told the club he would like someone was saying. I have issue with one particular poster, the genuine itk people do a great job. But you have some individuals who just want to feel important.

Clarkson may have advised the club he needed time and was somewhat interest. Or maybe gave more reassurances... We may never know

An all time favourite. Three picks in the top 15 and we got Luke Livingston, Trent Sporn and Simon Wiggins.

How did the dees go trading pick 6 for May and their first rounder and a future first for Lever?

There is no hard and fast rule - it depends on the state of your list and the holes in your list.

Not to mention what you’re getting. Cerra is an unusual opportunity in that he’s still very young, was a high pick in what is shaping up as a good draft, and has shown that he was probably worth it.

You can’t make pronouncements like this as though the choice is binary. We’ll still have the money to sign to sign McKay and Walsh. So it’s a gamble between the certainty of getting a good player and the possibility of getting a very good player and saving some money that we still have to spend in another player.

Meanwhile his neighbour would chop down 19 trees in a row...
Apparently after that Teague took his chain saw back to the store where he bought it from complaining how slow his tree chopping has been compared to his neighbours.

The storeman inspected the chainsaw and then went on and started it...Teague out of shock stepped back plugging his ears with his fingers and asking what the **** is that noise.
