Someone doesnt know there is an effing pandemic going on that causes billion dollar lockdowns.Just sos you know - if macgowan built a hospital right now in a mining boom, he would pay a heap more as hed have to compete with the mines and everyone else for workers - and hed drive the price up for everyone.
Wa is different to other states as everything is cyclic - in good times governments job is to run a surplus and stash cash.
Then when the inevitable crash of iron ore prices comes, we build heaps of infrastructure to keep the workers let go by the mines working and stimulate the economy which would otherwise be moribund. This keeps the skilled labour pool from leaving the state and ready for the next boom.
See in nsw and victoria thats the federal governments job - if theres a potential recession - the feds kick in and stimulate and get things going - we dont get that sort of consideration.
Well it does in states that dont do circuit breaker lockdowns because this weeks profit >>> the next six months profitsSomeone doesnt know there is an effing pandemic going on that causes billion dollar lockdowns.
And it will in wa too when you open up without adequate hospital cover.Well it does in states that dont do circuit breaker lockdowns because this weeks profit >>> the next six months profits
6 voted for NSW and 2 for ACTThe two people who voted for Victoria must be strange units.
Exactly how long do you think it will take to build a hospital? And it will in wa too when you open up without adequate hospital cover.
im sure you will be loving the couple of million you saved on delaying infrastructure spending when you have months long lockdowns cos you didnt have adequate hospital cover.
You could build a hospital in 8 months if you wanted to. Retrofit an existing builiding to a hospital in 4 months. No urgency at all.Exactly how long do you think it will take to build a hospital?
Looking at fiona stanley:
Planning started in 2004, construction started in 2008 and was completed in 2014
10 years.
Announced september 2021:

Well the liberals had a long time in power to build a hospital. They didnt. You could build a hospital in 8 months if you wanted to. Retrofit an existing builiding to a hospital in 4 months. No urgency at all.
that womens hospital isnt even starting construction until 2023. What a joke.
In the future most uni students will login from home. They may never step onto campus. Overseas students will only come so they can emigrate at the end of their course.I think society is now going to slowly move away from cities and giant suburban sprawl and move back out to regional areas. In 50 years time we will look back at 2019 as peak city. Young people will still want to live in them but families and older people wont. the office skyscraper will slowly disappear. And with older workers no longer needing to go to cities the streets in cities will become completely car free. Cities will become solely entertainment and university hubs.
Im quite looking forward to this future to be honest.
This will likely happen as well. Although uni students love social interactions unlike workers with families. But uni students may find other avenues for that rather then at uni themselves. In the future most uni students will login from home. They may never step onto campus. Overseas students will only come so they can emigrate at the end of their course.
As what happen in 1992 recession , the modern office skyscraper will be converted in residential.
People living in the CBD will not venture out to the outer suburbs. They will take public transport to the beach. They will holiday overseas.
Regional property is in big demand, selling a quick as it is listed. Fleeing Sydneysiders tend to buy two and rent one out.
I'm not that confident about large shopping malls because of online buying.
Oh dont get me wrong the other premiers and feds have massively failed on this front as well. But WAs hospital system Is the most problematic of the lot cos it was already vastly short of beds even without a pandemic.Well the liberals had a long time in power to build a hospital. They didnt.
Richard court - liberal premier was in 9 years and zero hospitals were planned or built.
Labor were elected and Fiona stanley was conceptualised and built by labor under gallop and carpenter.
We then had 9 years of liberal under barnett where zero hospitals were built.
Now labors mcgowans been in since march 2017 - so 4 and a bit years and hes again building a hospital.
He also has a plan in place in the event of a major outbreak to temporarily nationalise all the private hospitals to be covid wards for the duration - massively increasing our capacity without wasting money on a half arsed temporary hospital.
Oh and seeds - can you name another premier thats built a hospital since this covid thing started so we can compare exactly how badly mcgowan has done?
No doubt gladbag has built 3 since covid is rife there yeah?
And hes approved a hospitalOh dont get me wrong the other premiers and feds have massively failed on this front as well. But WAs hospital system Is the most problematic of the lot cos it was already vastly short of beds even without a pandemic.
Why are you happy with it?I've moved to NSW from Victoria at the start of this year. I'm happy with my decision
Never mind that he’s in new south funking WalesWhy are you happy with it?

Its not a great place to live. Full of flies and inbredsIs Norfolk Island covid-free? I would have filed for refugee status in the Hutt River Province, but I don't think it exists anymore sadly

They will if you get covid. The front line staff are not knackered, they arent closing EDs as we are in Melbourne .... gratuitous advice by any measure.
Hutt riverWhere, Norfolk? Or Hutt River?
They will if you get covid.

Another victim of the taxman.
