Im curious about the Allies Game scheduled for October, even though it wont feature the NSW kids, it will be interesting to see if the Tassie and Qld kids can impress and put their names up there, theres a few i know about and like, but im interested if that next group can potentially step up in the big games?

Tasmania - Sam Banks + Jacob Young ect
Queensland - Bohdi Uwland + Austin Harris ect
Northern Territory - Ned Stevens ect

Hi Davo - who do you think the Hawks might target with our picks in the 20’s? Do you think Conway would be a good choice as a possible successor to McEvoy or is that too early to take a ruckman?

Conway is an option i have been saying for a bit, i think theres only a few clubs who need a ruck and we're one of them so he is an option in the early 20's

theres a bunch of decent talent that may slide into the early 20's so we'll wait and see and hope our recruiters make good decisions.

if you look at my top 50 you'll see how i rank the players, take out the defenders and thats who we will be looking at i think.

Banks won’t be playing any Allies games. Heading in for more surgery on his wrist that he injured earlier in the season. Recruiters are of the opinion he’s done enough. Will slide from earlier projections of top 20, but whatever club picks him up in the 2nd or 3rd round will be getting an absolute steal..

Actually looking at the Allies squad, there isn’t one 18 year old from the Lions academy. They’re all 19 this year.

Tassie v Qld U17s and U19s thoughts
u17's Tassie dominated Qld

players that stood out

Seth Campbell - tassie sml forw, very clean, kicked 4 goals, beautiful kicking skills, clean hands, good outside of 50 as well as inside 50, Josh Rachele comparison
Cameron Owen - tassie ruckman, good tap ruk, hit out to advantage, competitive in the air and wins clearances, not as athletic as i would like, but has all the skills needed
Lachlan Cowan - tassie hbf/wing, good run and carry, intercept marking, has good acceleration, good size, needs improvement on running patterns
Saunders - is a good accumulator, but his shots on goal and long kicking seem to be a weakness of his, has good endurance it seems and knows where the footy is

Levi Fyfe - (GCS A-2022)really competitive, wins 1 on 1's, clean hands, kicking needs some work, but most of his game is high quality
MacMillian - (Bris A-2022)solid disposal, came into thegame more in the 2nd half, decent mid, lacks a little pace, but theres something to work with

u19's Qld just beat Tassie

players that stood out

Will Bella - (GCS A)very strong bodied player with good skills around the ground and good overhead, decent height, could be a late draft bid
Jaspar Fletcher - (Bris A F/S - 2022)moves well and looks like another good father son prospect for Brisbane next year, lovely running goal and a few silky plays on the wing.

Game still going, only 10 points in it. Fourth quarter only 8 mins gone

Tassie shot after the siren to win missed. Qld win by 2 points.

yea i wrote that at half time, it was rough viewing, not a lot of quality in that game, i lost a bit of interest after half time tbh, i got more out of the u17 game, i have already seen Tassie Devils play a bunch of times and the same names performing, the u17s was a more fresh look at unfamiliar players.

out of the Tassie v Qld u19 game, the only player i thought was draft worthy was Will Bella, there were some 19 year olds who played well, maybe a team looking for a project ruck could look at Elphinstone, but thats about it

Kobe Ryan only top 30 after yesterdays game?

36 possies in 3 quarters of midfielders is pretty good.

I really like Mattaes Phillipou

so you disagree over 1 prospect, do you have anything else to say about these players?
I really like Tsatas, his ability to read the ball drop, his congestion in traffic and some explosive speed. I think he has the biggest ceiling in this group.

WA V SA Game 2 before the AFL Grand Final
WA V SA Game 2 before the AFL Grand Final

WA won again, unfortunately Amiss hurt his knee and Draper hurt his collarbone, both looked good prior to injuries

WA:
Arthur Jones just put himself in draft contention, with an excellent wing performance, filled with hard running, bravery and skill, with a couple of goals
Brady Hough was solid all game in midfield, got a 50m penalty for an easy goal, looks good as a forw/mid prospect
Matthew Johnson started slowly with some poss but a bit sloppy, he came good with poss in the 2nd half
Kane Bevan had some moments where his hands were so strong and clean, some pick ups and contested marks for a mid that were Bartell like
Kade Dittmar was quiet in the first half when he was forw, but his 2nd half in the midfield was much more impactful
Jacob Van Rooyen was solid in defence, using the ball quite well and then kicked the match winning goal
Jackson Broadbent is a strong ruck, i really like how he plays, not just a tap ruck but useful around the ground and in clearances
Finn Gorringe is a really good leader for this group this year, he just helps gel this group together

SA:
Adam D'Aloia was the best midfielder on the ground, really talented kid for 2022
Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera is just all class, was ok in the first half, but really helped SA comeback and nearly steal the win
Lewis Rayson was a good running link on the wing, helped create drive into f50
Mady Liddy was once again a strong centre clearance player for SA, he partnered well with D'Aloia

Arlo Draper, Isaiah Dudley, Max Michallaney, Shay Linke and Harry Lemmey were also good contributors during the game

Where the hell is Luke Brown ?
He's probably top 5 draft pick next year maybe number 1 pick if his form of kicking multiple large bags of goals
for a underaged continues into his
draft year.

As a casual observer I thought Davis and especially Walter dominated for Tas U19's. What is it about Walter that you ignored him or think he is not AFL ready?

If talking about Jed Walter, he's not 2022 eligible.
He's for 2023.

I have been a fan of Oliver Davis for awhile, but i think clubs have a query over his athleticism, i didnt watch much of the second half, but i will later on just to see if i missed something and i'll keep an eye out for Walter. (i watched the u17's and the first half of the u19's but i think i got a bit tired and lost a bit of interest but i plan on going back and watching the 2nd half of the u19s later on)
