Was his defending any worse than Brodie Smith?

Smith isn't a bad defender for a running half back. Milera doesn't know what a defensive action looks like.

He played his best football when Smith was out with his ACL. Was useless once Smith came back.

In theory Milera is perfect though he hasn't shown much at AFL level when he's played there.

Even him performing averagely though is a major upgrade on Murphy and Rowe

He's played well in bursts at times when up there, I think he's a half forward personally.

Good overhead, strong over the ball and a solid finisher.

I'm hoping Rory finds a new home up front somewhere. Can read the packs and hitouts as well as mark. Solid kick for goal too.
But, a great defensive game which really will be an advance on most of this year up there. Murphy sometimes excepted. McAdam, Frampton, Rowe all have terrible offensive pressure. Sloan might surprise a few up forward.

Given he has been out for so long , I can't recall what his marking was like.

His tackling and kicking were pretty good. I assume the evasiveness will be somewhat reduced. Hopefully not the speed either
