Tell me if this correct , Collingwood get pick 22 , 46 , 58 and they have to use all the picks to grab Diacos - does this mean our pick in round 3 actually improves 3 spots so 49 becomes 46 - the Dogs are most likely to do the same for Darcy.
2 spots, picks below 49 will be used up in the points requirement depending on where he is bid

Random photo of Sharman ‘2scoops’ Cooper

We could start calling him SCOOPER ....... that said on 2nd thoughts ....... it is actually a little bit tooooo close to ....... STROOPER

yes and no

Daicos and Darcy will consume picks which will move picks forwards, but also with all the NGA's and Academy players, it may just move them back as well

‘ Ross gets the loose ball at half back, King is all on his own at CHF, he stops, props and kicks a beautiful mongrel out on the full on the outer side’

yeh, let’s have that guy at half back…

Maybe he could be Left Back …….

on the bloody bench? 🤭

Random photo of Sharman ‘2scoops’ Cooper in his second game just to rejuvenate our spirits and remind ourselves of the positive recent performance of the our current talent scouts.

Are you sure that's Sharman , looks more like Skipper
Your right , it is Sharman , he just looked a lot more solid in the body that he does most times

I get the enthusiasm for this guy, and the fun we’re having with it, but I’m cautious about performances over a few games rather than a broader portfolio.
So while Sharman has had a couple of good weeks, I’m not that caught up in the hype. Same as with Hind.
Let’s see the performance over a season or two.
However…..
For all sorts of reasons, that is a great, great mark.

Forum-wise

- Seb resigned
- squabble about Seb
- more squabble about Dunstan
- Billings comparisons to other players
- I got ‘champ’ed
- Gresham is Dusty/Gray/Ablett jr, but a far shitter kick
- Steele, Marshall & King untouchable
- Pies trade helps bring our later picks closer, hope dogs do the same
Lol thanks mate

The moonballing stat padder?

He got his 2 years so he should be stoked.

I remember a few years back when Xavier Richards knocked back his contract extension to find a pay day, but there were no takers, so he crawled his way back to the Swans & the Swans retracted their offer & delisted him. He then spent the year next playing for UNSW

You can only dream dude.

Hind has been pretty damn good this year. If Sharman developed that sort of consistency we’d be stoked.

Hobbs is more of a Brad Crouch, although he does go forward and kick plenty of goals.

Just a little sidenote on that. Crouch actually looked pretty dangerous in the second Geelong game this year. He had 24 disposals, but what impressed me was that he kicked two pretty crucial goals when moved forward.

I reckon next year we could see him be one of those mids that increases his scoring average. Would definitely add another aspect to his game, I thought he did a bloody good/consistent job this year anyway. Same with Higgins. Outstanding pick ups that don’t get enough credit in my book.

I’m just enjoying a young draft pick that has had a very good 1st 4 games and 10 goals . As good 1st 4 games from anyone we have drafted in many years looks a natural footballer and yet amazingly it has been suggested by some to trade him out 😂 #madness

No one knows what happened and blaming the club all the time might not be correct.

I just don't want to go backwards next year. The last few years we've been very active bringing in players trying to to bridge the gap. This year is the first year we are actually shedding good players with only internal improvement to bridge the gap. To be better next year we need to improve by probably 10% to slip into the 8 while staving off the other sides around our level also trying to move up.

The positives next year are....
King should be better and closer to what he put up late in the year and hopefully Sharman should be carrying on his form.
The injury list should be smaller.
The draw favours us after finishing low on the ladder.
The players we need to come on should develop now that they are getting games.

Experience says that....
We'll have our most important players injured.
Seb Ross and Jack Billings will still be in our best players.
The AFL will find a way to make our draw look like it should belong to a top 4 side.
Our kids will walk around like rockstars without putting in the work.

Surely not. Sharman, as you say looks like a natural footballer, but lets cut him some slack, needs a big pre season, then some regular games. He may go backwards next year, but the thing is he is a natural footballer and he wont lose that.

Eade, as his former coach said that Cooper is compliant and will do whatever the coach asks. So compliant that he sometimes deferred to the other forwards, still a bit unsure of his place in a team. He must have been told to go for whatever he wants to as he took some pretty impressive contested marks.
If he continues down that path he will b a weapon with King and Membrey taking the key backs. We are having a bit of fun with the hype, hopefully everyone knows it is hype and the young man needs some slack cut over the next season or two as he learns his craft at the top level.

Yep I just hope we are not to cautious with him, I can see Ratts playing him at Sandy just because
We need to back some youngsters in next year Bytel. Sharman Byrnes Connelly

Watson and Lyon talking about a whisper of Dawson being involved with a discussion around pick 17 (Richmond?), involving Adelaide, Sydney, St Kilda and whoever the owner of that pick is. Anyone heard any more?

Understandable, but maybe hold off until after the trade period to say we are losing good players. We have kept Billings and Ross, and lost Dunstan so far.

Maybe trade
Long who is attracting losts of interest
Battle who has a fair bit of interest
Coffield, extremely unlikely
Clark - lol

We are looking at a few to cover those losses. Don't think we are losing too much experience.

If we have a good year with injuries it will be hard to gauge how far our development progresses, conversly the injury hit 2021 had us getting games into the likes of Connelly, Byrnes, Highmore, Bytel, and Sharman.

For better or worse the club is hellbent on Ben King. I understand why, but to get something you need to give something. The give part is that next year is hamstringing our TPP and trading this year. Maybe a good thing as we hit the draft, maybe with two FRDP's and hopefully two NGA's. That would be a good haul.

If we do get the development, and the kids for a year, then land King and maybe another experienced trade (maybe a FA or something) we will be looking good in 23.

If it blows up, well gringo you will haave plenty of fodder.

I'm traumatised by the trade period. My PTSD kicks in at this time of year.

Dogs own that pick.

Not sure how we could get involved?

I suggested on the Dawsonbturead that Adelaide give their 2nd and 3rd for 17 and on trade it to the swans for Dawson.
