Hadnt finished what I was saying and didn’t mean to post this one. Jackson is more the exception than the rule though.

I went back and watched Hunter's extended highlights from the last round. If he's able to put in that level of performance at an AFL level each week, he's a good 3rd ruck but no more which is all we need. Xerri would probably be ahead of him just but we couldn't carry both Hunter & Xerri surely.. Xerri may even cost us a pick which seems outrageous.

Yeah that's the thing - why waste a pick on someone who turns out to be a slightly better PHunter.

If we are going to look at another ruck/forward (and use valuable draft picks), then do the job properly - find someone who is actually good in one or both positions.

Wines and Dunstan are both on 51% kicking efficiency. They are not saying he's as good as Wines, they are saying for a pickup that costs zero he would be a great fit for teams like Geelong, Richmond or Port, even if he is just depth.

No to drafting Mac Andrew unless there are literally no decent mids at our pick, and if that’s the case I’d go for Gibcus instead.

More of a fan for Sweet over Xerri. He came in this year for the dogs and got quite the praise at AFL level. If my memory is correct, he didn’t play finals as Doggies preferred Stef Martin as that’s what they brought him in for. 23 years old and should be cheap, perfect for us. It would be Flynn or Sweet for me.

That being said, I’m pretty optimistic for Heath as well. Wonder how high he would’ve gone if he was in the national draft and actually got to play some games.

He’s an unrestricted free agent. If he was genuinely in demand, a club would add him their list right now.

The reason no one has taken him year is because there is no competition for him.
