Does it even matter what Darcy McPherson wants? He's got one year left on his contract right? If he's traded to us with pick 19 that contract still stands. Fight for a spot on our list or be a sook and sit out.. who gives a crap! We only really want pick 19 anyway and GC want to get rid of you and your salary. You play well in the year you might get another 2, if not see if someone else will take you. We just keep developing the young boys.

You can't trade a player to a club he doesn't want to go to. It is not legal.

Like The Filth Wizard said, living in QLD vs Vic must be a significant factor for him, spose at the end of the day if he's going to move, he wants it to be worth his while.

In any event, he sounds like a bloke who doesn't think he has a long career in footy, which is why we should walk away.
Might be holding out to join the Syrian expansion team

MACPHERSON STANCE LEAVES SUNS STUMPED
Gold Coast is open to Darcy MacPherson remaining at the Suns on a restructured contract as his potential trade to North Melbourne ran aground on Tuesday.

The Roos and Suns are still negotiating on a deal to send pick 19 and MacPherson to North Melbourne in exchange for a future second-round selection and a swap of later picks.

But MacPherson is keen to remain at the Suns and fight for his position in the last year of a back-ended contract worth $400,000.

While North Melbourne premiership player David King was critical of a deal brokered after MacPherson finished top three in the best-and-fairest, the deal is heavily back-ended.

The Suns are determined to fix their salary cap issues so would be open to him signing a new two-year deal on a more responsible wage.

MacPherson is a popular member of the Suns with good leadership who plays a high-pressuring forward role when in the side but has battled to make an impact in the past two seasons.

If the trade did not eventuate, the Suns would still be keen to trade their No. 19 pick to one of five or six potential suitors.

Clubs including Brisbane and Melbourne could be keen to improve their draft hand in this draft while giving the Suns high picks in the 2022 national draft.

The Suns will only take pick 3 to the national draft, determined to back in the players they have drafted in the past two seasons instead of bringing on more first-year talent.

Will Brodie could yet find a new home at Fremantle with discussions underway about a potential trade.

Brodie is due a significant 2022 contract and is unlikely to play much senior football at the Suns.

So the best-case scenario for both clubs would be a trade that allowed the Dockers to restructure his contract.

If they do not have the list spot for Brodie he could eventually be delisted and find his way to the Dockers as a delisted free agent.

Former No. 9 pick Brodie is a clearance expert but in a team with Touk Miller, Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson has not been able to find a regular role.

If it's a future 2nd then no thanks. Not for 2 or 3 years for MacPherson. Not sure I would do 1 year.

Lets talk to Brodie instead and see if he wants to come over on his 1 year deal.

Let it out.
😂 you’ll be losing players for nothing too when ya start to bottom out 2022 and onward.. they’ll scatter from punt road faster than rats do a sinking ship! Your membership will start to decline, with council continually rejecting Punt rd upgrades, you’ll be forced to ship
Off to Craigieburn.. you still got that save our skins tin? You’re gonna need it.

Am i getting this right as the worse case scenario for Richmond, which involves us not even having to bother negotiating with them.

Tarrant to Richmond as free agent
Richmond loses Chol compensation pick
We gain CCJ via PSD
We gain compensation pick for Tarrant.

That should be the starting point, as we don't even have to speak to them for this to happen. Any "trades" we do, worsen the above deal for us, and improves for them, yet we have to "negotiate"???
Yeah it's kinda bizarre isn't it.

Gold Coast aren't the problem are they? I read that it is just that MacP doesn't want to come.

Have we failed in another high profile trade? Our war chest must be filled with monopoly money.

I think you could assume at least some Roos players have taken recreational drugs. End of the day, they are a cross section of the community as a whole who also take recreational drugs.

I am sort of in the same boat that it's none of my business, and from a partaking aspects its likely no different to getting on the beers when related to performance. I'd argue that the supply chain of coke supply is littered with shockingly bad outcomes but that's another story.
I used to ask people why they'd give money to the Bush family crime syndicate or some other sleazy proto fascist dictators when they'd rack up.

Its a brutal industry, we like to say that about footy but its just a metaphor in sport.

Back when youtube first started Los Zetas would post executions (that lasted about a week) then the lead up to executions on their channel. Guys in balaclavas carrying assault rifles with someone sitting down, their hands and feet zip tied and looking either very scared or very defiant. It was disturbing stuff. (Not as bad as the people who'd share videos of sniper's shooting terrorists in Afghanistan but its all the same ball park and the Zetas were formed by former US trained mexican military so they all learned about modern propaganda together.)

If you are into hip hop Peruvian Cocaine, by immortal technique is pretty good. Pulls no punches.

MacPherson is a waste of time, let's turn our attention to the love child of Bull Zurhaar and Elvis Ford - Ben Ainsworth.

Stick him with the Bull and his Personal Trainer for the next 5 months and get him super, super ripped.

The bash brothers - Bull, Elvis and the Lovechild would create havoc at the feet of Souva, CCJ and Comben.

If you think about where he is at his age, after this contract he might be pretty close to paying off the majority of a house and set himself up a little for life after football. And if he has other interests, he gets to pursue them with a fair safety net. Just depends on how much he values the career.

He's said he'll come for three years. It is a negotiating gambit!

He has 1 year at the Suns on a reported $400k. We have probably offered $500k over 2 years. Another $100k to $200kshould loosen his panties.

I mean, most wouldn't have even heard MacP prior to two days ago and he'll undoubtedly meander back into obscurity after his delisting announcement at the end of 2022.

"T.Xerri potentially out the door"

I'm sad about this. Xerri has busted a gut finding a pathway to the seniors, and we seem to have rolled it out for CCJ who has only played a few games and may have some attitude issues.

The selectors clearly know better, but I can see how the CCJ maybe deal might have got Xerri a bit offside.
