English Super League Super League 2022

Huge result, mate. Didn't see that one coming.

What about Leeds over the Tigers?

Rd 8

Salford Red Devils 18 lost to Warrington Wolves 62
Halftime 12 -26
I wtched this game and it was basically one way traffic other than a few minutes were Salford played like they wanted to win.
Toby King had over 200 meters gained, Gareth Widdop 2 tries and over 130 meters gained, Stefan Ratchford can kick from anywhere, and the only standout for Saldford was Ken Sio
Will Toby King be a future five-eight/ centre for England?

Castleford Tigers 6 lost to Leeds Rhinos 60
Halftime 6 - 32
Huge upset for mine, but looking at the scoreline maybe more than a few people have underestimated the Rhinos?

St Helens 34 d Hull FC 16
Halftime 22 - 4
In a back and forth game where one side was in front with the opposition to claw back it wasn't all that entertaining at all.
The only excitement for me was Welsby's three tries and Mahe's two.

Catalans Dragons 48 d Wigan Warriors 0
Halftime 16 - 0
I didn't even pick the Dragons to win.
All this shows is that now the Dragons are back home they are a force to all comers.
Maloney leads them around the park nicely with Tomkins and Jullien producing good things, all in all the team played together nicely and got the basics right.
Other than Hardaker's headbutt it was a game played in great spirit.

Hull Kingston Rovers 40 d Leigh Centurions 16
Halftime 18 - 12
Did not watch
Ryan Hall 3 tries, Kane Linnett 2 tries, SKD 174 meters for Hull KR
Ben Hellewell 2 tries for Leigh

Wakefield Trinity 38 d Huddersfield Giants 12
Halftime 30 - 0
Game was done and dusted by halftime.

We look in trouble right now. Our young forwards need some experienced help and fast. We are losing our senior players and they are not being replaced by equivalent quality. Hastings is going to Wests at the end of the season, as is Gildart, who is still currently injured. Bevan French has a serous injury and may not play many more games for us. Jai Field lasted about two minutes in his first game, and is still long-term injured. And even if we get George Williams back (and him ending up at Leeds or Warrington would not be a good look), it won't help much without some go-forward.

As for the Tigers, it's a bit 'end of an era' for them. Their coach is going to Warrington next season, they are an ageing team, they lost their primary play-maker Luke Gale (to Leeds, in fact). Leeds are a young side on the up.

Castleford 35 d Warrington 20
Halftime 19 - 0
Fairly surprised by the score line after last weeks results, maybe the Tigers are more interested in the cup this season?

Hull FC 18 def by St Helens 33
Halftime 2 - 14
Don’t worry about the final score here as the Saints never looked like losing here.
The Griffin injury looked bad, hope he can get back from it.

Cats and Saints look well above the rest. Certainly above Wigan, the way we are playing! Sam Tomkins has looked really good this season.

Saints hammer Leeds, who now aren't yet assured of a Finals place after this. It's really hard to see it as anything other than a two-horse race.

I haven't seen many games, but the results are all over the place. Wigan should beat Leeds.

Don't ever change, Aucklander! :D

We have been appalling all year, averaging 15.5 points per game. That is literally the worst in the comp. Leeds have nilled us twice at home. We never deserved to progress.

And now, although I haven't seen the game, big-spending Warrington, always mocked for it being 'their year' every year, and now featuring shiny new George Williams, were undone by an unfancied Hull KR side.

Oh wow, I just watched the highlights of Warrington/Hull KR: 0-19! :D

Complete with a glorious chip-and-collect from their rookie 20-year-old half-back. Straight over Stefan Ratchford's head,, regather and dot down under the sticks! :D

Well, it's first v second, and as I think many league fans agree, that's how it should be.

I watched the highlights of Saints' semi-final earlier and was a bit surprised how easily they turned Leeds over. They don't look as good as they looked under Holbrook, though. Should be a good contest.
