What a great team we have.

Think our back 7 is setup nicely from here on in. McCartin and Rampe the Talls. Fox the third tall higher up. Cunningham the lockdown small defender. Lloyd McInerney and Blakey all rebounding.

Our wings at the moment are awesome with a predominant combination of Florent Dawson and Gulden. Think Warner can add to this when/if he returns.

Franklin Reid Heeney Hayward Papley Wicks are our best forward 6, the 7th position is likely a rotating wing or mid. Gulden makes sense to come forward to open up a wing but he has been great higher up the last few weeks.

Our Mids combination seems to be Mills, Parker, Hewitt, Kennedy, Rowbottom and Warner. Rowbottom / Warner to also rotate in the forwards and wings. Add Hickey and that’s a very good 23.

Think our sub needs to be a mid / wing / forward. Not an obvious option right now but form should determine this.

Not far off the mark at all.
Blakey a surprise packet at HBF.
While I prefer McInerney on the wing I can see the point of playing him there. Might need someone a bit bigger/tougher against certain opponents and possibly swap him with Dawson, for instance, even during the game.
Have always wanted Dawson on a wing and glad that Horse has finally caught on. Maximises his skills.
Mids could use a bit more pace but that's who we have.
Some good forward depth in Amartey for Reid, McDonald, McLean, Bell, Taylor, Ronke and Sheather, even Grey.
Mids and backs skinnier though.

Awesome team. Just hope Ollie improves next year, he’s capable of better but seemed to be second guessing himself a lot.

I'd like Wicks in the team, but it is pretty hard to argue with any of this. Good problem to have.

I throw my 2022 B22 out there, why not. It's very similar to Scaryness' team

B: Fox, McCartin, Cunningham
HB: Lloyd, Rampe, Blakey
C: Florent, JPK, McInerney
Fol: Hickey, Mills, Parker
HF: Papley, Buddy, Gulden
F: McDonald, Hayward, McLean
Int: Heeney, Wicks, Warner, Rowy

This is obviously not including Dawson or Ladhams, they'd easily slot into this team for Rowy and McDonald

I think Ladhams would replace McLean as the forward/ruck if he comes.
Doubt we'll see Dawson in Red and White again.
So it looks as if Stephens and Gould enter their third season without breaking through, Melican and O'Riordan are still not quite good enough and we still are a bit short down back.
Unless something pretty amazing has happened in the draft we have been unable to improve our cattle other than getting another year into the youngsters.
Your team looks very close to what will run out Round 1, at least the names.

No WAY Wick isn't in our best 22.
Such an important part of how our forward line works, you need players like him no matter the team.

If we were making a real All Australian list Wicks would be on the cusp of selection. The pressure he provides is some of the best in the league.

Who rucks when Hickey rests?

This is a potentially controversial view, and I'm not actively endorsing it going forward, but... I actually didn't mind Blakey when he was giving a chop out in the ruck.

It didn't solve his poor form at the time, but I thought he was better there than he was on the wing.

Maybe there's a setup where Blakey starts HBF and chops out in the ruck.

Would prefer Amartey/McLean though.

On a form line you can't argue with that really.

Would love to see Stephens, Campbell and maybe Gould make pushes for best 22 by season's end though
