imagine battlers like Dawson and Clark seemingly the biggest names left to be traded. Peter Bell and Carlton Nicky Austin should be congratulated for doing the Cerra deal so quickly and efficiently.

Geelong and Sydney are going to fold and trade Clark and Dawson for what's been speculated in the media BTW.

I will agree that it’s nice to get a trade done quickly. Better to stay on a clubs good side and do what’s best for all parties involved.

Robbie Tarrant has been the only elite player traded this window and we got him

Even Wikipedia stopped giving a toss about following Robbie Tarrant’s career. :p

Lol

He won't play more than 40 games for Richmond and we know it, nor his fault but his body is absolutely shot, and that is why North were not willing to give him the contract Richmond were offering, which imo strikes me as desperation.

Cerra will be a multiple AA and Premiership player at Carlton. Bookmark it !!!

they'll bid on Darcy too, TBH i'd be disappointed if they didn't now that we've created the points for it.

The whole bidding and points system is still a bit inexplicible to me, possibly because I am not sure how it properly works, as we really have yet to get a player either from a academy or F/S selection under current rules (we probably have the most fruitless academy zone/region of all Vic clubs)

Time to unfollow this thread for 5 months 🤣

Don’t you dare. The more people that read our crap for the next 5 months, the better the odds that people in future generations will believe the stories.

Why were you looking at Robbie Tarrant’s Wikipedia

With the bidding process clubs should be able to say nah * it you have him then and get the next available pick to stop clubs just being dicks.

Why? So the dogs get pick 3 for free?

He's in the 4-10 range but I'd expect a bid at 3-4 which seems reasonable.

I am bored pantless right now, so decided to do a list of each club's current best players, mostly (but not necessarily) based on form in the past 2 years/seasons

Not saying I am a grand poobah expert or anything, just my opinion (feel free to list yourself BTW folks)

Adelaide - Tom Doedee
Brisbane - Hugh McLuggage
Carlton - Sam Walsh
Collingwood- Darcy Moore
Essington- Zac Merrett
Fremantle - Nat Fyfe (especially Brayshaw to overtake him in the next 12 months or so through
Geelong- Patrick Dangerfield
Gold Goast - Touk Miller
Greater Western Sydney -Toby Greene
Hawthorn - Tom Mitchell
Melbourne- Clayton Oliver
Norf - Todd Goldstein
Port Adelaide- Oliver Wines
Richmond - Dustin Martin
St Kilda - Jack Steele
Sydney - Tom Papley
West Coast - Nicholas Naitanui (anyone says he is overrated is a pygmie who doesn't know squat about footy)
Western Bulldogs - Jackson Macrae.

The Doggies was very dicey, but honestly feel like Macrae has put a more solid body of work in the last 2 seasons overall than The Bont.

Big fan of Macrae and how he goes about footy (the Dogs version, not his younger bro at the Pies)
Speaking of The Pies, Pendlebury and Sidebottom have been bog ordinary the past 2 years, the game has sadly passed both of them by imo)

Lol, out comes the poster with the memory of an elephant.

When SOS bid on Liam Henry and Tom Green, he was absolutely destroyed on here as having no idea with people acting that SOS thought he could draft Henry or Green. I wonder why the change of mindset now?

I wasn't taking about Darcy(or even the Dogs haha), more than happy to take him high. Just think it'd make a few clubs think twice about trying to keep clubs honest.

You'd still have to use your points so there's nothing free about it.

Bit of a stand off between Bombers and Giants over Bobby Hill, seems there's a bit of bad blood from last trade period.
Sandra Sully over here. The latest is that we're now prepared to include the future second GWS want and it'll just be down to the pick swaps to go with it.

Would be okay with F2 and a 4th for Hill and a third.

I must have misunderstood you. I thought you were saying that the dogs in the previous example could let GWS for example have Darcy and then the dogs get pick 4.

I'd be happy with a rule for F/S where you have to use your first rounder on them. No points bullshit.

Yeah in my scenario used still have to use the same amount of points.

F/S is a tough one and im not sure theres a perfect system.

So you would get pick 4 for its point value if you let someone else take Darcy? I don't like that either tbh.

If you just have to use your first round pick, it becomes more luck and would even out over time imo. Dogs get a steal this year but in the future you may have to use pick 3 if you are down the bottom.
