Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
Saw him at Alberton and has speed and nice side step, sold a real dummy to our defender and spotted up lead, Moment that left me thinking that kid has some x factorNot at all. Draper is more of an athlete- agile, quickish- much less clever.
Interesting. Would've though pure mid or a tall.Talk is we will take Wanganeen

I think there is a real chance he goes between Hawthorn’s pick 5 and Fremantle’s pick 8. Freo have 2 picks in that range and he’s exactly the player type their list is crying out for.Talk is we will take Wanganeen
That’s close to all I’ve seen as Johnson. He’s not a horrible prospect that I’ll be super worried about picking up, but there’s a few doubts I have about his game translating.I've only seen the 2 games, plus some other bits and pieces.
Do you think Draper could play purely in the middle?? He's much more dynamic.
agree on sonsie. His drop off in the draft year concerns me, but when he did play well, he was exactly what we need. There’s some risk there but the upside of selecting him is very high.Sonsie is my biggest want - has the tools for what we need (speed, skill, clearance ability), even though he had an injury-interrupted and inconsistent season. Can also impact forward.
For some reason, I've become more and more into Arlo Draper as well. Even in a "down" game like that first one against WA where every SA big name laid an egg, there was something about him, a presence that made him notable and could do things others couldn't. I see him becoming a very good pack player.
Goater has the size and athleticism and has improved greatly over the year.
Johnson has the size and smarts.
Rachele has the X factor.
I think I'd be decently pleased with one of those five.
Any ruck drafted this year will be a list clogger.Need to draft 2 rucks. One a kid the other a state league guy already filled out and 23 to 25 years old.
One with pick 92 or 110 which will end up about pick 65 as sides pass on picks as well as picks eliminated in bids..
The other in the rookie draft or one of those bullshit start of season or mid season drafts.
Talk is we will take Wanganeen
Probably similarThe only reason Draper gets comapred to Robbie is because he can play both as a goal scoring forward and as a genuine midfielder. Other than that, their actual game style is pretty far apart. Robbie has x-factor and insane goal sense that Draper just doesn't have. Draper has a knack for kicking big goals and dragging his team into it though. He's a lot more of a marking medium forward. He's more like a Heeney than a Gray.
In terms of midfield though they are miles apart. Robbie is/was a clearance machine and was absolutely elite and being able to weave his way through traffic to get free. Draper is more a traditional get ball, kick it forward clearance type. I'm not sold on his midfield work as i've said before. His direct opponent gets a lot of the ball and a lot of clearances.
I'd be happy getting Draper.
I'd be happier with Rachele, who is a lot like a young Gray/Butters. Great goal sense, quick, damaging inside 50 and will be able to transition into the midfield.
My only real concern with Johnson is defensive pressure. He's elite around the packs but has tended to just run off and do what he wants without care for an opponent this year. But, in terms of midfield need he is exactly what we should be after. Tall, endurance, elite clearance winner, great skills, elite vision. He'd be great.
Sonsie also fits that bill. Good inside/outside mid, good skills, can play on a flank. He's the Boak clone this draft. He was neck and neck with Horne-Francis for me until about 12 months ago and whilst he's fallen down the rankings a bit, he's in that perfect range for us.
Wanganeen-Milera would also be alright but he doesn't fill a direct need. Drafting him means we'll see Rozee and Duursma spend more time in the midfield. There's a lot to like about his game but it does come with risk.
Sinn as well, even though he's not a direct need would be someone that i'd love to have and he can transition into a line breaking centre midfielder as well. Goater is right up there as well as a line breaking mid. Tall, explosive. Kicking a mixed bag but he has bucket loads of potential.
My preference would be:
1: Rachele
2: Sinn
3: Sonsie
4. Goater
5: Johnson
6: Draper
7: Wanganeen-Milera
8: Van Rooyen
We need a centre square mid with burst clearance speed , we have inside mid bulls.Really hope not. We need a pure inside mid not another outside player.

Hard to find in this draft at 12. Not sure who really fits the bill , some speculative types like Goater, Sonsie who have potential and risk issues, so its going to be tricky for selection. (high risk draft with so little exposed form for Vics)Should have clarified more but certainly an inside mid with burst speed is our biggest need and must be addressed with pick 12. Not any flankers or single paced mids.
Did he play basketball as a junior in Koroit? In this highlight package Johnson looks like a cross between Pendlebury and Drew.

Ok, I'm now on the Rachele, Rachele bandwagon.I'd be happier with Rachele, who is a lot like a young Gray/Butters.

Any highlights of Goater, seems a favourite for many , but has little exposed form, bit of a late season mover. Seems everyone is basing it on his athletic test profile which was exceptional.
His highlights look awesome.
